| ObjectivesTo understand the basic situation and related factors of prevalence of chronic NCDs among people living with HIV/AIDS(PLHA)aged over fifty in Anhui Province,to provide the basis for formulating relevant health services policies.MethodsWe used stratified sampling with cluster sampling method.According to the geographical location,we selected Lixin and Linquan as rural investigation region and Wuhu city,Maanshan city and Anqing city as urban investigation region. Then we conducted a survey of eligible people at CDCs.The survey included general demographic characteristics,disease-related conditions, behaviors and habits, diet, quality of life, sleeping quality and prevalence of chronic noncommunicable disease.Univariate analysis includedχ~2-test and t-test.By using binary unconditional logistic regression,we analyze the relative factors of the prevalence of chronic noncommunicable diseases.ResultsA total of 615 PLHA were surveyed and 607 valid questionnaires were received.Among the 607 PLHA,the average age of the participants was(60.32±7.94)years,besides,184(30.3%)in 50~54 age group,249(41.0%)in 55~64 age group and 174(28.7%)in65~89 age group;61.8%(375/607)of participants were male.49.3%(299/607)of participants were urban. The total score of Physical Health Summary Score of quality of life and Mental Health Summary Score was(45.94±12.75)and(43.11±12.26),and the total score of sleeping quality was(7.28±4.53).Among the 607 participants, the prevalence of chronic NCDs was 65.6%(398/607).The prevalence of chronic NCDs in urban areas was 41.1%(123/299),and the prevalence of chronic NCDs in rural areas was 89.3%(275/308);the prevalence of chronic NCDs in men was 58.4%(219/375)and the prevalence of chronic NCDs in women 77.2%(179/232);the top five system-specific prevalence rates are circulatory system diseases(40.2%),digestive system diseases(32.5%),musculoskeletal system and connective tissue diseases(29.7%),endocrine,nutrition and metabolic system disease(22.1%),urogenital system disease(9.9%);the top six prevalence rates of chronic NCDs by disease are hypertension(31.5%),intervertebral disc disease(22.2%),hepatitis C(19.4%),cerebrovascular disease(14.0%),arthritis(13.8%),diabetes(13.0%);the prevalence of chronic NCDs comorbidity was 47.0%.Multivariate Logistic regression analysis showed that the relative factors of prevalence of chronic NCD among people living with HIV/AIDS over 50 were the age group of 50-54 years(OR=0.500,95%CI:0.298~0.839)and the group of 55-64 years(OR=0.560,95%CI:0.336~0.931),female(OR=1.690,95%CI:1.075~2.656),intake of milk/dairy products(OR=2.327,95%CI:1.518~3.567),duration on ART over ten years(OR=5.538,95%CI:3.382~9.069)and first-line ART regimens(OR=0.423,95%CI:0.265~0.675).ConclusionThe overall prevalence of chronic NCDs in elderly HIV/AIDS patients was 65.4%,among which the prevalence of chronic NCDs in female HIV/AIDS patients(77.2%)was higher than that in male(58.4%),and the prevalence of chronic NCDs in rural HIV/AIDS patients(89.3%)was higher than that in urban HIV/AIDS patients(41.1%).It increased with age(57.6%,68.7%,69.5%)in 50~54,55~64,65~89 age groups.Factors associated with chronic NCDs were age, sex, dairy intake, duration of antiviral treatment, and antiviral treatment regimen. |
