Background:Colorectal cancer has a high mortality rate among all cancers in the world and great threat to human health.Over half patients will metastasize during the course of disease, which effect the conclusion of patients.Among all metastatic sites, the liver is the most common. With the advancement and development of medicine, systemic chemotherapy and biological agents have significantly improved the overall survival rate of colorectal cancer with liver metastases. As the aging of the population and other risk factors exist, the risk of disease has increased.Besides, the economic burden also adds. Therefore, early screening and evaluation of efficacy after treatment are particularly important. As a relatively economical and convenient examination method, tumor markers can be used to screen cancer patients and reflect the effect of patients undergoing surgery or comprehensive treatment. At present, tumor markers such as CEA,CA19-9and CA72-4 are widely used to evaluate the efficacy of colorectal cancer after treatment, but many studies have shown that the sensitivity and specificity of its single detection are low,and it often needs to be combined with other tumor markers to improve its clinical application value.HSP90α is a molecular chaperone involved in signaling pathways in cells, which expresses highly in many tumors and has relationship with its occurrence and development. Many researches have indicated that heat shock protein 90α can be used to evaluate the efficacy of chemotherapy in varied tumors, but there are few studies on its application value in colorectal cancer. Our study explored the clinical significance of the tumor marker HSP90α in colorectal cancer. Objective: To explore the relationship between HSP90α level in patients with advanced colorectal cancer and its clinicopathological characteristics and therapeutic efficacy. Methods: 54 patients who were diagnosed as advanced colorectal cancer and hospitalized in our hospital from October 2018 to November 2019 were collected. They have received multiple courses of multi-line chemotherapy in the past. After at least 2 courses of combined therapy(anti-angiogenic drugs combined with 5-FU-based chemotherapy),test the level of plasma HSP90α before and after treatment, meanwhile,CT,MRI or PET-CT was used to assess the lesion. The patients were divided into effective and invalid group, liver metastasis and no liver metastasis group.Explore its relationship with clinicopathological characteristics and efficacy of colorectal cancer.Result: There was no significant correlation between plasma HSP90α level and patient’s gender, age, tumor location and degree of differentiation(P>0.05);plasma HSP90α level decreased after treatment(P<0.05);Both the effective and invalid group showed changes in plasma HSP90α: plasma HSP90α levels decreased after treatment in the effective group(P<0.05);in the invalid group, plasma HSP90α increased after treatment(P<0.05).whether in the liver metastasis group or not, plasma HSP90α levels were lower than before. Conclusion: The expression of plasma HSP90α is highly in colorectal cancer patients. The detection of plasma HSP90α level has certain reference value for evaluating the therapeutic effect of advanced colorectal cancer.
