The Retrospective Analysis Of Modified Qigong Pill In The Treatment Of Polycystic Ovary Syndrome(phlegm-wet Type)

Objective:To evaluate the treatment effect of Modified Qigong Pill(MQP)in Polycystic ovary syndrome(PCOS)according to a retrospective study in the patients who were diagnosed as Polycystic ovary syndrome(PCOS)(phlegm-wet type),then to provide the basis for the further research and the development of MQP in the treatment of PCOS(phlegm-wet type).Methods:According to the criteria of inclusion and exclusion,55 cases which were diagnosed as PCOS(phlegm-wet type)and treated with MQP were adopted from July2018 to December 2020 at the outpatient Department of Traditional Chinese Medicine of the Affiliated Hospital of Zunyi Medical University.The study collected and recorded the patient’s serum Luteinizing Hormone(LH)Level,Follicle Stimulating Hormone(FSH)Level,testosterone(T)Level,and LH/FSH ratio.The data also include Pregnancy situation,BMI,and syndrome scores of too much thick mucus in the mouth,menstrual cycle disorder,fatigue,heavy limbs,the amount of menstruation varies,sticky stool before treatment and 3 months after treatment.Results:The 55 eligible patients with PCOS(phlegm-wet type)were enrolled in this study.Their ages were between 25 and 29.Most of the patients had a disease course between 12 and 36 months.Among the 55 patients,46 cases had spleen and kidney qi deficiency and phlegm-wet obstruction,which accounted for 83.6%;6 cases accompanying with liver stagnation and phlegm-wet obstruction,which accounted for10.9%;and 3 cases with blood stasis blocked and phlegm-wet obstruction,which accounted for 5.5%%.After treated with MQP for 3 months,12 patients were cured,7patients showed significant effect,30 patients were effective,and the total effective rate was 89.1%,of which 10 cases have been successfully pregnant and delivered.55patients’BMI were significantly reduced(25.17±2.25 vs 24.51±1.53)kg/m~2(P<0.05).The level of serum LH,T,LH/FSH were declined(P<0.05).The level of serum FSH were declined(P>0.05).The total score of syndromes of the patients was significantly reduced(P<0.05).,and the scores of menstrual cycle disorder,the amount of menstruation varies,too much thick mucus in the mouth,fatigue,heavy limbs,sticky stool were significantly reduced(P<0.05)..Conclusion:MQP can effectively reduce the patient’s BMI,coordinate the secretion of serum T and LH levels,improve LH/FSH ratio,guarantee a successful pregnancy and deliver,and alleviate the symptoms of phlegm-wet in the patients.It suggests that MQP has a certain therapeutic effect on PCOS(phlegm-wet type),which provides a basis for the further research and the development of MQP in the treatment of PCOS(phlegm-wet type).
