Meta Analysis Of Drospirenone And Ethinylestradiol Tablets In Preventing Endometrial Polyps From Recurrence After Hysteroscopy

Objective:This study aimed to evaluate the efficacy and safety of drospirenone and ethinylestradiol tablets in preventing the recurrence of endometrial polyps after hysteroscopy.Methods:From January 2010 to January 2021,Pubmed,Cochrane Library,Wanfang Database,CNKI,VIP Chinese Journal Database,and China Biomedical Database were searched for the treatment of endometrial polyps after hysteroscopy combined with drospirenone and ethinylestradiol tablets.According to the inclusion and exclusion criteria,randomized controlled studies were selected,the quality of the included literature was evaluated and data extraction was performed,and the Rev Man5.4 software was used for meta-analysis.Results:A total of 22 randomized controlled studies were included in this Meta-analysis,The total sample size were 2062 cases,including 1027 cases in the drospirenone and ethinylestradiol tablets treatment group and 1035 cases in the control group.The results of Meta analysis showed that the difference between the two groups in the following results were statistically significant : the recurrence rate of endometrial polyps in 6 months after operation(OR=0.2,95%CI=[0.14,0.29],P<0.00001),the recurrence rate of endometrial polyps in 12 months after operation(OR=0.15,95%CI=[0.08,0.28],P < 0.00001),menstrual improvement rate in 6 months after operation(OR=4.26,95%CI=[2.88,6.31],P < 0.00001),menstrual volume in 6months after operation(MD =-37.58,95%CI=[-45.67,-29.50],P < 0.00001),and endometrial thickness in 6 months after surgery(MD=-2.32,95%CI =[-2.89,-1.75],P<0.00001).But in these results were not statistically significant: pregnancy rate at 6months after surgery(OR=1.59,95%CI=[0.87,2.88],P=0.13),postoperative adverse reactions include intermenstrual bleeding(OR=0.66,95%CI=[0.37,1.18],P=0.16),headache and nausea(OR=1.63,95%CI=[0.88,3.03],P=0.12),mood swings(OR=0.81,95%CI=[0.47,1.38],P=0.43).Conclusion:The clinical efficacy of combined treatment with drospirenone and ethinylestradiol tablets in patients with endometrial polyps after hysteroscopy is safe and feasible,but large samples and high-quality randomized controlled trials are still needed to verify.
