| Objective: This study aimed to investigate the association of serum liver and kidney functions and the clinical characteristics and prognosis of sudden sensorineural hearing loss(SSNHL).To provide a theoretical basis for the prevention and treatment of SSNHL.Methods: The study included 200 patients with SSNHL from February 2018 to October 2017 in Sixth People’s Hospital Affiliated to Shanghai Jiaotong University and 50 age and sex matched healthy controls.We compared the level of liver and kidney functions between the SSNHL group and the control group.And then we compared the levels of liver and kidney functions of SSNHL by different genders,different sides,tinnitus and vertigo or not and different types.and made regression analysis between liver and kidney functions and the prognosis of SSNHL.Results: The levels of total protein,aspartate aminotransferase,total bilirubin,creatinine and uric acid in the SSNHL group were significantly lower than those in the control group(P < 0.05),while the levels of urea and urea / creatinine were significantly higher than those in the control group(P < 0.05).There was no significant difference of albumin,alanine aminotransferase,γ-Glutamyl transpeptidase and urea in two groups(P > 0.05).There was no significant difference in the level of liver and kidney functions in SSNHL patients with different gender,different affected ear,tinnitus and vertigo or not.The prognosis was not related to gender,side,with or without tinnitus and vertigo(P > 0.05),but related to the type of disease.The prognosis of low-frequency type was the best,followed by high-frequency type and flat type,and the prognosis of total deafness type was the worst(P < 0.05).Regression analysis showed that the more serious the hearing loss was,the worse the prognosis was;the higher the albumin level was,the better the prognosis was(P > 0.05).Conclusions: The levels of total protein,aspartate aminotransferase,total bilirubin,creatinine and uric acid in the sudden deafness group were significantly lower than those in the control group,while the levels of urea,urea / creatinine were significantly higher than those in the control group.The prognosis of low frequency type is the best,followed by high frequency type and flat type,and the prognosis of all deafness type is the worst.The more serious the hearing loss was,the worse the prognosis was;the lower the albumin level was,the worse the prognosis was. |
