| ObjectiveAccording to the Roy adaptation model,the subjective life experience of obese patients after bariatric surgery is explored,and the basis for providing relevant intervention measures for medical staff is provided.MethodsThe qualitative design is used in this study.In August 2020,the purposive sampling method was adopted to select patients who were in consulting clinic for following up after 6 months of bariatric surgery in a tertiary-class hospital in Xi’an.Based on the Roy adaptation model,the interview outline was developed,and semi-structured in-depth interviews were used to collect data and recorded it.The recordings were converted into text within 24 hours after the interview.Use NVivo11.0 software,and use the Colaizzi phenomenology 7-step analysis method to sort and analyze the data.FindingsThe number of samples that reached data saturation in this study was 17 cases.According to Roy’s adaptation model,4 modules,7 themes and 24 sub-themes were extracted from the life experience of obese patients after bariatric surgery.1.Physiological mode(adaptation response)(1)Improvement of health problems(normal laboratory indicators,normal physiological period,improved sleep conditions,improved skin conditions);(2)Changes in eating habits(focus on healthy eating,changes in eating tastes,loss of appetite);Physiological mode(ineffective reaction)(3)I have troubles(hair loss troubles,vomiting troubles,skin loosening troubles,early postoperative constipation,protein powder is difficult to drink,afraid of cold);2.Self-concept approach(adaptive response)(4)Feeling everything is fine(confident,feeling relaxed);Self-concept approach(ineffective response)(5)Feeling unhappy(dissatisfied with weight,feeling incomplete,difficult to adapt to changes in diet,worrying about the future);3.Role function mode(adaptive response)(6)The family relationship is harmonious(the relationship with the child is better,and the relationship between husband and wife has not changed);4.Interdependence(ineffective response)(7)Lack of social support(not received correct support from family and friends,need medical staff support,need social support).ConclusionsThe adaptive responses to life experience after bariatric surgery include normal laboratory indicators,normal menstrual periods,improved sleep conditions,improved skin conditions,a healthy diet,changes in dietary tastes,loss of appetite,self-confidence,feeling relaxed,and a better relationship with the child,The relationship between husband and wife has not changed.Adaptation response can promote the physical and mental health of patients.Medical staff should encourage patients to maintain healthy living habits.Ineffective reactions to patients after bariatric surgery: hair loss,vomiting,loose skin,early postoperative constipation,poor protein powder taste,cold trouble,dissatisfaction with weight,feeling that oneself is incomplete,difficult to adapt to changes in diet,and the future Worry,not getting proper support from family and friends,need medical staff support,need social support. |
