| Objective:The purpose of this study was to observe the effects of the soothing wind and clearing heat traditional Chinese medicine fumigation on subjective symptom score, tear film breakup time, corneal fluorescein staining and curative therapeutic effectiveness in patients with evaporative dry eyes(EDE).At the time, make further observe the changes of tear interleukin-6(IL-6),interleukin-1β(IL-1β)in patients with EDE.To explore the potential mechanism of fumigation of traditional Chinese medicine to improve EDE clinical symptoms and signs, and to provide basis for clinical treatment EDE.Methods:144 eyes of 72 patients diagnosed as EDE with wind and heat syndrome in the Second people’s Hospital affiliated to Fujian University of traditional Chinese Medicine was collected from January 2020 to October 2020.Randomly divided into Chinese medicine fumigation group and fluomirone eye drops group. Each of group has 36 cases(72 eyes). The patients in traditional Chinese medicine fumigation group were given the soothing wind and clearing heat traditional Chinese medicine fumigation, twice a week, two weeks. In fluomirone eye drops group, patients were given fluomirone eye drops, qid, two weeks. And all patients in two groups were given artificial tears solutions, qid, two weeks. Before treatment and after treatment, subjective symptom score, corneal fluorescein staining score(FL),tear film breakup time(BUT),total therapeutic efficacy, intraocular pressure, and tear IL-6、IL-1β level were recorded.Results:(1)Subjective symptom score: after treatment, subjective symptoms scores in Chinese medicine fumigation group and fluomirone eye drops group were lower than those before treatment. And the score in Chinese medicine fumigation group was lower than that in fluomirone eye drops(All P<0.05).(2)Fluorescein staining score: after treatment,FL scores in Chinese medicine fumigation group and flumilon eye drops group were lower than that before treatment. And the score in Chinese medicine fumigation group was lower than that in fluomirone eye drops(All P<0.05).(3)Tear film breakup time: after treatment, the BUT in Chinese medicine fumigation group and fluomirone eye drops group was higher than before treatment, and the BUT in Chinese medicine fumigation group was higher than that in fluomirone eye drops group(All P<0.05).(4)Evaluation of total therapeutic efficacy: after treatment, the significant efficiency of Chinese medicine fumigation group was 43.24%,effectiveness was 51.39%,failure rate was2.78%.In the fluomirone eye drops, the significant efficiency was 27.78%,effectiveness was63.89%,failure rate was 8.33%.The total effective rate of Chinese medicine fumigation group was also higher than that of fluomirone eye drops group, the difference was statistically significant(All P<0.05).(5)Intraocular pressure: compared with before treatment, the IOP in two groups has no significant difference(All P>0.05).(6)IL-6 levels in tears: after treatment, the fluomirone eye drops group of the IL-6 decreased from(138.97 ± 29.55)pg/ml to(68.84 ± 24.54)pg/ml,the Chinese medicine fumigation group decreased from(141.56±32.93)pg/ml to(57.07±23.97)pg/ml.The IL-6 levels in the Chinese medicine fumigation group and the fluomirone eye drops group were lower than before treatment. And the IL-6 level in the Chinese medicine fumigation group was smaller than that in the fluoromicron eye drops group(All P<0.05).(7)IL-1β levels in tears: after treatment, the fluomirone eye drops group of the IL-1βdecreased from(123.72 ± 24.98)pg/ml to(54.41 ± 13.44)pg/ml,the Chinese medicine fumigation group decreased from(125.82±27.35)pg/ml to(46.73±6.39)pg/ml.The IL-1βlevels in the Chinese medicine fumigation group and the fluomirone eye drops group were lower than before treatment. The IL-1β level in the Chinese medicine fumigation group was smaller than that in the fluoromicron eye drops group(All P<0.05).Conclusion:Fumigation of soothing wind and clearing heat traditional Chinese medicine can down-regulate the tear IL-6,IL-1β.This may be the potential mechanism of To explore the potential mechanism of fumigation of traditional Chinese medicine to improve EDE clinical symptoms and signs. |
