| Research Purpose:A set of process, graphical, and visual health education programs was designed for patients with colorectal cancer and use the mind map visualization software to make it into a hierarchical and focused information support map.To discuss the effect of this method on CRC patients’ acceptance of the disease, reduction of uncertainty, improve of anxiety, coping skillsand other cognitive aspects,in order to provide a new theoretical basis for the clinical education pathway.Research Methods:According to the design of a class-experimental study,80 patients who underwent radical colorectal cancer surgery from December 2019 to December 2020 in a tertiary care hospital in Zhejiang Province were selected by convenience sampling.According to the inclusion and exclusion criteria,80 patients with a disease uncertainty score>32 were screened on the day of admission using the Disease Uncertainty Scale,40 cases each in intervention and control groups. The control group was given conventional education guidance, the intervention group implemented the information support method based on the mind mapping model.Comparing the patients disease uncertainty score, medical coping style score and patients’ health education satisfaction score during hospitalization at four time points,on the day of admission,1 day before surgery,7 days post-operative and 1 month after discharge and finally statistical analysis.Research Results:1.Comparison of general information between the two groups of patients showed no difference(P>0.05).The patient`s clinical disease related data such as disease diagnosis, the types of combined diseases and the severity of self-conscious diseases were also not statistically significant(P>0.05),and the baselines of the two groups were comparable.2.Repeated measures suggested that except for the unpredictable dimension scores, the time point, group and interaction of the total score of disease uncertainty and other dimensions in 2 groups were statistically significant(P<0.05).The unpredictability score of the two groups were different at 7 days after operation(P<0.05),and the results of each item in the intervention group were better than those in the control group.3.After the intervention, the anxiety levels of the two groups of patients showed a trendency over time.Repeated measures analysis of variance suggests that there was a difference in the comparison of anxiety scores between the two groups of patients with different interventions when time was not taken into account(F=8.803,P<0.05);when the group factor was not considered, there were differences in anxiety scores at different time points(F=228.875,P<0.001);the interaction effect was statistically significant(F=3.055,P<0.05).4.After the intervention, the scores of the two groups of patients in the face dimension increased gradually with time, while the avoidance and yield dimensional scores graduallydecreased.the results of repeated measures analysis of variance indicated that the score results of each dimension were P<0.05 for time point, group, and interaction, which indicates that the scores of medical coping styles between the two groups were significant different over time.and the intervention method of the mind map mode has an impact on the results the role of will change due to the influence of time.5.Comparison of health education satisfaction scores:compared with the control group, during the hospitalization of patients, the health education satisfaction scores of the mind map information support group was higher, and there was a difference in the results between the two groups(P<0.05).Research Conclusion:1.Compared with traditional clinical education methods, mind mapping health education can effectively manage the disease uncertainty of patients with colorectal cancer, alleviating their anxiety, and guiding them to choose optimistic and positive coping styles.2.Mind map information support has a significant effect on improving the satisfaction of health education during hospitalization of CRC patients. |
