| ObjectiveTo explore the clinical efficacy and safety of Wenfei Huayin decoction in the treatment of chronic wet cough caused by allergic rhinitis(Allergic Rhinitis,AR)in children.MethodsA total of 70 children who met the diagnostic criteria in the pediatric clinic of Guangdong Integrated traditional Chinese and Western Medicine Hospital were selected.In a randomized,single-blind,parallel controlled trial,70 children were randomly divided into two groups:treatment group(n=35)and control group(n=35).Both groups were treated with oral montelukast sodium and loratadine combined with nasal inhalation of momethasone furoate nasal spray for 7 days,while the treatment group was treated with Wenfei Huayin decoction for 7 days.The subjective symptom score of cough,visual blurred score of cough((Visual Analogue Score,VAS)and subjective symptom score of rhinitis were evaluated by a third party before treatment and 3 and 7 days after treatment.The children’s AR quality of life score was evaluated by a third party before treatment and 7 days after treatment.After 7 days of trial treatment,the clinical efficacy and safety were evaluated.Results1.Analysis of baseline data of two groups of children:After 7 days of test,1 case in the treatment group fell off and 34 cases were actually completed,including 22 males and 12 females,with a median age of 4.00 years and a median course of 4.50 weeks.In the control group,3 cases fell off and 32 cases were completed,including 20 males and 12 females,with a median age of 4.00 years and a median course of 5.00 weeks.A total of 66 cases were completed in this study.There was no significant difference in the scores of cough subjective symptoms,VAS scores,rhinitis subjective symptoms and AR quality of life between the two groups before treatment(p>0.05).2.Analysis of cough subjective symptom score,VSA score and rhinitis symptom score:(1)There were significant differences in cough subjective symptom score,VSA score and rhinitis symptom score between the two groups(all P<0.01).(2)After 3 days of intervention,there was no significant difference in the subjective symptom score of cough between the treatment group and the control group(p>0.05),but there was significant difference in VSA score and rhinitis symptom score between the treatment group and the control group(all P<0.05).After 7 days of intervention,there were significant differences in the above scores between the treatment group and the control group(all P<0.01).(3)The subjective symptom score of cough,VSA score and rhinitis symptom score of the treatment group before intervention were significantly lower than those of the previous observation point compared with the intervention for 3 days and 7 days(all P<0.01).Before intervention in the control group,compared with the intervention for 3 days and 7 days,the above scores were also significantly improved compared with the previous observation point(all P<0.01).3.Analysis of children’s AR quality of life score:After 7 days of treatment,the AR quality of life score of the two groups was significantly improved,and the effect of the treatment group was better than that of the control group(p<0.01).4.Efficacy evaluation and safety analysis:The analysis showed that after 7 days of treatment,Excellent and good rate of the treatment group was 88.23%(32/34),which was higher than that of the treatment group(68.75%)(22/32).The comparison between the two groups showed that the treatment group was better than the control group(p<0.05).During the test of the two groups,the vital signs were normal and no gastrointestinal reaction and neuropsychiatric symptoms were found in each visit.After the end of the test,no abnormality was found in the children.ConclusionOral administration of montelukast sodium,loratadine and nasal inhalation of momethasone furoate nasal spray in children with chronic wet cough caused by AR can improve the symptoms of cough and rhinitis,and improve the quality of life of children with AR.In the treatment group,the effect of Wenfei Huayin decoction was better,and there were no other adverse reactions in the two groups.To sum up,Wenfei Huayin decoction has a certain effect on chronic wet cough caused by AR,and it is safe and reliable. |
