Objective: To observe the clinical effect on type ⅢB prostatitis(syndrome of qi stagnation and blood stasis),treatment by acupuncture and moxibustion combined with soothing liver and activating blood decoction.Method: Ninety-three patients diagnosed with type IIIB prostatitis(qi stagnation and blood stasis syndrome),all of them are randomly divided into three groups: treatment group,control group A and control group B,and each group has 31 cases.The treatment group receive acupuncture and moxibustion combined with soothing liver and activating blood decoction,the control group A only receive soothing liver and activating blood decoction,and the control group B just receive acupuncture and moxibustion.All patients in these three groups receive treatment for 4 weeks.Finally,observing and comparing the changes before and after treatments in these scores in each group: prostatitis symptom score(NIH-CPSI)and TCM syndrome score,at the end,making a analysis and evaluation of curative effect according to statistical theory.Result: There are total 93 patients entered the experiment.One person in the treatment group be dropped out,one person in the control group A failed to take the decoction as requires and then be dropped out,and one person in the control group B take other medications who also be dropped out.Till end,only90 cases are enrolled in this study.The age,course of disease,NIH-CPSI score,pain symptoms,urination symptoms,the quality of life score,and the TCM syndrome score,all of them without statistically different in these three group and before this treatment,so they were comparable.(1)Overall effective rate after treatments in these 3 group:90% is the treatment group,76.7% is the control group A,and 66.7% is the control group B,P<0.01,so there is a significant difference among these three groups,and the treatment group is better than the control group A and B in terms of effective rate.(2)After treatments,comparing with the NIH-CPSI scores in these three groups and all of them have curative effects,p<0.01;And it also has comparisons between the groups : 6.03±4.57 is the treatment group,10.87±7.66 is the control group A,and 11.33±7.28 is the control group B,the non-parametric test analysis showed that p=0.004<0.01,and indicating that these three groups have significant differences in the scores.Finally,the treatment group is better than the control group A and the control group B in reducing the NIH-CPSI score.(3)Pain symptoms,urination symptoms,and quality of life scores after treatment were compared among these three groups,and all these three groups are effective in improving symptoms,p<0.01;comparison of urination symptoms between these groups P=0.001<0.05,pain symptoms p=0.004<0.01,quality of life p=0.013<0.05,the treatment group is better than the control group A and B in improving pain symptoms,urination symptoms,and quality of life.(4)Analysis and comparison the TCM syndrome scores after treatments among three groups,p<0.01,so all three groups are effective in improving TCM symptoms;comparison between groups P=0.006<0.01,indicating that the treatment group is more better on improving TCM symptoms and reducing the score than the two control group A and B.Conclusion: In this study,patients with type IIIB prostatitis(qi stagnation and blood stasis syndrome)are used as subjects,and all them are received different treatments: one is received acupuncture and moxibustion combined with soothing liver and activating blood decoction,one is only received to oral traditional Chinese medicine and the other just have treatment by simple acupuncture and mouxibustion.The results show that the treatment with acupuncture and moxibustion combined with soothing liver and activating blood decoction has a significant effect and the clinical symptoms of the patients are significantly improved without any obvious side effects.All in all,It provides another way to treat this type ⅢB prostatitis,which is worthy of more in-depth exploration.
