Clinical Study On Waldeyer’s Ring Massage Treatment In Children With Combined Allergic Rhinitis And Asthma Syndrome

ObjectiveObserve the clinical effects of Waldeyer’s ring massage in children with combined allergic rhinitis and asthma syndrome(CARAS).To verify the curative effect of Waldeyer’s ring massage on the local symptoms of CARAS.To explore the effect of Waldeyer’s ring massage combined with western medicine treatment of asthma on the condition of children with CARAS,and to provide more clinical evidence for the prevention and treatment of children with CARAS.MethodsContemporaneous controlled trial design model of prospective cohort study was adopted.The children with CARAS aged 4 to 11 who were admitted to the Pediatric Clinic of Guangdong Traditional Chinese Medicine Hospital from January 2020 to January 2021 were collected,and then divided into the control group and the treatment group according to the wishes of the children and their parents.The control group was treated according to the 2016 version of the "Guidelines for the Diagnosis and Prevention of Bronchial Asthma in Children".The treatment group was treated with Western medicine combined with m Waldeyer’s ring massage.The evaluation time points were before treatment and 4 weeks after treatment.Evaluation indicators include rhinitis symptom score,childhood asthma control test(C-ACT)score,TCM syndrome score and medication score.ResultsA total of 51 eligible children were included in this trial.During the experiment,2 children in the control group fell off and 3 children in the treatment group fell off.The dropped cases do not participate in statistical analysis.After the end of the clinical study,46 cases were actually completed,including 23 cases in the control group and 23 cases in the treatment group.The statistical analysis results are as follows:1.There was no difference between the control group and the treatment group in terms of gender,age,height,weight,and the severity of the condition before treatment,the total score of rhinitis symptoms,the total score of TCM syndromes,and the total score of C-ACT(P>0.05),indicating that the baselines of the two groups are comparable.2.In the experimental group,the total scores of rhinitis symptoms and TCM syndromes after treatment were reduced compared with those before treatment,and the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05).It shows that the experimental group can improve the symptoms of CARAS rhinitis and TCM syndromes.3.Comparison between the control group and the test group:the effective rate of rhinitis symptoms(treatment group:78.26%,control group:39.13%),the total score difference of rhinitis symptoms,the total score difference of nasal symptoms,and the difference of nasal congestion symptoms were compared between the groups.The differences were statistically significant(P<0.05),indicating that the therapeutic effect of massage combined with western medicine on the improvement of CARAS rhinitis symptoms is better than that of the control group,and it is mainly to improve the nasal symptoms,especially the improvement of nasal congestion symptoms is more advantageous.After treatment,the effective rate of TCM syndromes in the experimental group was 56.52%better than that of the control group 26.09%,and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05),indicating that Waldeyer’s ring Massage has a certain effect on improving the TCM syndromes of CARAS.4.The total C-ACT score of the experimental group after treatment did not increase compared to before treatment,and the difference was not statistically significant(P<0.05).The C-ACT total score after treatment,the difference of C-ACT total score before and after treatment,and the total score of medication were compared between groups,and the difference was not statistically significant(P<0.05).It shows that there is no significant difference between the control group and the test group in controlling the condition of CARAS.ConclusionWaldeyer’s ring massage can effectively improve the rhinitis symptoms of CARAS and provide more treatment methods for the prevention and treatment of CARAS,which is worthy of promotion and application.Probably because the observation time was short and the included cases were mainly the asthma control group,this study failed to show that massage combined with western medicine for asthma can effectively improve the level of disease control in CARAS.
