| ObjectiveTo Compare the accuracy of Haigis formula,SRK/T formula,Hoffer Q formula,Holladay Ⅱ formula,Holladay Ⅰ formula,SRK Ⅱ formula, and Barrett Universal Ⅱformula for cataract patients with high myopia.MethodsThe dinical data of 95 eyes of 68 cataract patients of high myopia with axial length greater than 26.00 mm who received phacoemulsification combined with intraocular lens implantation from Sep.2018 to Dec.2020 in the First Affiliated Hospital of Zhengzhou University were enrolled in this retrospective study. The preoperative biological measurements were performed by IOL Master 500.Haigis formula,SRK/T formula,Hoffer Q formula,Holladay Ⅱ formula,Holladay Ⅰ formula,SRK Ⅱ formula, and Barrett Universal Ⅱ formula were used to predict the diopter after the implantation of the intraocular lens. One month after the surgery, the spherical equivalences(=diopter of spherical+1/2 diopter of cylinder)of the best corrected visual acuity was calculated according to the patient’s optometry, and compared with the expected diopter. The predicted error(PE),absolute refractive error(AE)and mean absolute error(MAE)of each formula were calculated respectively.According to the preoperative measurements of axial length, average corneal curvature[K,K=(K1+K2)/2],corneal astigmatism and anterior chamber depth for all of the patients into groups were divided into three groups respectively. The errors of each intraocular lens calculation formulas by groups compared with ANOVA for repeated measurement. The relationships between the factors of dividing into groups and the errors used correlation analysis.Calculated the percentage of different error ranges of each intraocular lens calculation formula.Results1.The mean absolute error of diopter of Barrett Universal Ⅱ formula was minimal in the aggregate data, and it was(0.47±0.39)D.Besides,the mean absolute error of diopter of Barrett Universal Ⅱ formula was minimal in each group with axial length, mean corneal curvature, corneal astigmatism and anterior chamber depth. The percentage of absolute error of diopter for Barrett Universal Ⅱ formula which within 0.25 D and 0.5 D was the highest(40.0%and 62.1%),and both of them were higher than the other six intraocular lens calculation formulas.2.When axial length was 30.00 mm and above, the difference between Barrett Universal Ⅱ formula and the rest of the intraocular lens calculation formula were statistically significant(P<0.05).The mean absolute error of diopter of Barrett Universal Ⅱ formula was minimal, and it was(0.42±0.39)D.3.With the increase of axial length or mean corneal curvature, except the mean absolute error of diopter of Barrett Universal Ⅱ formula was decreasing by group with axial length was 30.00 mm and above or mean corneal curvature was 44.01 D and above, the mean absolute error of diopter of the other intraocular lens calculation formulas was increasing.4.Except the group with anterior chamber depth was 3.70 mm and above or corneal astigmatism was 0.81-1.60 D,the mean absolute error of diopter of SRK Ⅱformula was maximal in each group with axial length, mean corneal curvature, corneal astigmatism and anterior chamber depth.5.There was no statistical significance between Haigis formula and SRK/T formula in all groups(P>0.05),and they both have good accuracies. The mean absolute error of diopter of Haigis formula and SRK/T formula were similar in the aggregate data, and they were(0.55±0.36)D and(0.55±0.40)D respectively. They were second only to Barrett Universal Ⅱ formula.6.The mean absolute error of diopter of Hoffer Q formula,Holladay Ⅰ formula and Holladay Ⅱ formula in all groups which were in the medium level.7.There was a clear linear positive correlation between the absolute error of Haigis formula,SRK/T formula,Hoffer Q formula,Holladay Ⅱ formula,Holladay Ⅰformula and SRK Ⅱ formula and axial length. There was a clear linear positive correlation between the absolute error of SRK/T formula,Hoffer Q formula,HolladayⅡ formula and Holladay Ⅰ formula and mean corneal curvature. There was a clear linear positive correlation between the absolute error of SRK Ⅱ formula and corneal astigmatism. There was a clear linear positive correlation between the absolute error of Holladay I formula and anterior chamber depth.8.In addition to the SRK Ⅱ formula, the proportion of negative diopter calculation error of the other six intraocular lens calculation formulas increase with axial length grows.the proportion of negative diopter calculation error of the seven intraocular lens calculation formulas increase with anterior chamber depth grows.ConclusionBarrett Universal Ⅱ formula has the best prediction for the cataract patients with high myopia, especially for those with axial length is 30.00 mm and above or mean corneal curvature is more than 44.00 D.Haigis and SRK/T formula take second place. |
