| Objective By comparing the effects of different duration of moxibustion on patients with rheumatoid arthritis(RA)cased by dampness and cold, the optimal moxibustion treatment for this type of RA was selected to provide a reference for clinical practice.Method A total of 93 patients with RA cased by dampness and cold were included in the Department of Rheumatology from June 2020 to December2020,and 93 random numbers were generated by Excel, with 31 patients in each group.Random numbers were placed in a closed opaque envelope and randomly selected by the subjects. The subjects were divided into3 groups, control group(conventional treatment),intervention group1(conventional treatment + moxibustion for 10 minutes),intervention group 2(conventional treatment + moxibustion for 15 minutes).Bilateral Shenshu and bilateral Zusanli were selected for moxibustion treatment in the two intervention groups. The treatment cycle was 3weeks,6 days of treatment per week and 1 day of absence. The SF-36,TCM syndrome score scale,VAS and laboratory indicators(ESR and CRP)of the 3 groups were compared before and after treatment. All data were statistically analyzed by SPSS23.0 software. Results 1.A total of 93 subjects were recruited, and a total of 86 subjects completed the study with complete data, including 28 in the control group,29 in the intervention group 1,and 29 in the intervention group 2.A total of 86 subjects were included in the final statistical analysis. There was no significant difference in general data(gender, age, family history of rheumatism)and observation indexes(SF-36,TCM syndrome score scale,VAS,ESR and CRP)among the3 groups(p>0.05),the baseline was comparable.2.The Post-intervention SF-36,TCM syndrome score scale and VAS were compared among the three groups, and the differences were statistically significant(p < 0.05).There was no significant difference in ESR and CRP between the 3 groups after intervention(p>0.05).3.After the intervention, the data of the two intervention groups(moxibustion 10-minute group and moxibustion 15-minute group)were compared, and the difference of TCM syndrome score scale was statistically significant(p<0.05),other data had no statistical difference(p>0.05).4.The pre-intervention and post-intervention SF-36,TCM syndrome score scale and VAS were compared among the three groups, and the differences were statistically significant(p<0.05).The differences in ESR and CRP before and after intervention were statistically significant(p<0.05).5.No adverse events occurred during the study. After 5 times of moxibustion treatment,a blister with a diameter of about 0.5cm appeared in the left Shenshu of one subject.Without special treatment, the blister healed itself one day later.Another one subject was intolerant to the smoke generated by the combustion of moxibustion, and no adverse reactions were observed in the other subjects. Conclusion 1.The conventional treatment combined with moxibustion in the treatment of RA cased by dampness and cold is better than conventional treatment. The combined treatment can effectively relieve the clinical symptoms and signs of patients, and significantly reduce the level of ESR and CRP of patients.2.The total effective rate of the TCM syndrome score scale in the 15-minute moxibustion treatment group was significantly better than that in the 10-minute moxibustion treatment group, and the conventional treatment combined with the 15-minute moxibustion treatment had more significant effects on alleviating the clinical symptoms and signs of patients. The optimal treatment for RA cased by dampness and cold is single acupoint moxibustion treatment for 15 minutes.3.Moxibustion is safe and effective in the treatment of RA cased by dampness and cold, which can be used as an adjuvant treatment for this type of RA in clinic. |
