Objective:Among permanent residents aged 15 to 75 in Luzhou City,Sichuan Province, the study aimed to evaluate satisfaction rates of the Healthy City Project(HCP),analyze influences of individual characteristics on satisfaction with the HCP,and confirm the positive effect of satisfaction with the HCP on subjective well-being,so as to provide inspirations and evidence for policymakers in Luzhou and other cities in China on improving residents’ subjective well-being through HCPs.Methods:Using a multistage proportional-allocation stratified sampling,9299 permanent residents aged 15 to 75 in Luzhou were sampled.Information was collected by self-administered questionnaires and face-to-face interviews,including(1)individual characteristics. Each resident’s community(village)/school/work unit, gender, birth date, educational attainment, occupation, household income, marital status, health condition, social support condition, life stress, length of residence, and awareness of the HCP.(2)Satisfaction with the HCP.A Questionnaire for Healthy City Project Satisfaction was designed to measure the satisfaction with eight fields of the HCP,namely, natural environment, public cultural/sports activities, public health education, healthcare services, medical security system, social security system, public safety and food security.Satisfying with all the eight fields was defined as "overall satisfaction",and the proportion of satisfied residents within the sample as "satisfaction rate".(3)subjective well-being.Subjective well-being was measured by the Five-item WHO Well-being Index.Based on the gender and age composition of permanent residents aged 15 to 75 in Luzhou,2016,inverse probability weights were calculated and posed on the sample.Subsequently, the overall satisfaction rate and satisfaction rates of each field of the HCP were calculated, influences of individual characteristics on satisfaction with the HCP were analyzed via variance component logistic models, and the positive effect of satisfaction with the HCP on subjective well-being was confirmed via structural equation models. Results:Among the residents,41.23%(95%CI:40.22%-42.23%)reported overall satisfaction with the HCP.Residents’ satisfaction rates of public cultural/sports activities(55.46%,95%CI:54.45%-56.47%)and food security(60.51%,95%Ci:59.51%-61.50%)were relatively low, while those of healthcare services(71.90%,95%CI:70.98%-72.81%),medical security system(71.74%,95%)CI:70.82%-72.65%)and natural environment(70.51%,95%CI:69.58%-71.44%)were relatively high.As for the influences of individual characteristics, women, those with high educational attainment, students, those with poor household income, those with poor social supports, and those with high life stress had low overall satisfaction or satisfaction with some fields(P<0.05),while the middle-aged and the elderly, civil servants/teachers/medical staffs/other public institution staffs, those with decent household income, the unmarried, those with robust health condition, those with significant social supports, those residing in city areas, those with a short length of residence, and those with a clear awareness of the HCP had high overall satisfaction or satisfaction with some fields(P<0.05).There existed a positive effect of satisfaction with the HCP on subjective well-being(standardized path coefficient:0.34,95%CI:0.30-0.39).Conclusion:Among permanent residents aged 15 to 75 in Luzhou, the satisfaction rates of the HCP were moderate, individual characteristics would influence satisfaction with the HCP,and there existed a positive effect of satisfaction with the HCP on subjective well-being.
