The Clinical Observation Of Shengyu Suppository In The Treatment Of Ulcerative Colitis

Objective: To observe the clinical efficacy and safety of Shengyu suppository in the treatment of ulcerative colitis(damp heat type of large intestine),so as to provide a safe and effective Traditional Chinese medicine treatment for ulcerative colitis.Methods: A randomized controlled trial was used in this study.From September 2018 to December 2019,68 patients with active mild to moderate ulcerative colitis were selected from the outpatient department of the affiliated hospital of Shandong university of traditional Chinese medicine.The patients were divided into observation group and control group randomly with 34 cases in each group.The observation group was treated with Shengyu suppository and the control group was treated with mesalazine suppository for 8 weeks.The clinical efficacy and safety of Shengyu suppository in the treatment of ulcerative colitis were evaluated by statistical analysis of the clinical comprehensive efficacy,TCM syndrome efficacy and Baron endoscopic score of the two groups before and after treatment.Results: The experimental results showed that the observation group was comparable to the control group in terms of clinical comprehensive effect,TCM syndrome effect,main single symptoms(abdominal pain,diarrhea,tenesmus),improved Mayo score and Baron endoscopic score.The observation group was superior to the control group in the improvement of single symptom(purulent and bloody stools).No adverse reactions occurred in the two groups during the treatment.There was no significant difference in recurrence after 3 months of follow-up.Conclusion: Shengyu suppository is effective in the treatment of ulcerative colitis(damp heat type of large intestine),especially in the improvement of the purulent and bloody stool.The drug is safe and worthy of clinical application.
