Objective: To observe and discuss the clinical effect and mechanism of smokeless energy accumulating moxibustion in the treatment of postherpetic neuralgia,in order to provide an objective scientific basis for the treatment of postherpetic neuralgia by smokeless energy accumulating moxibustion. Methods: 62 patients with postherpetic neuralgia were randomly divided into two groups.31 patients in the treatment group were treated with non-smoking moxibustion combined with oral western medicine, and 31 patients in the control group were treated with oral western medicine.According to the changes of visual analogue scale(VAS)and Pittsburgh sleep quality index(PSQI)before and after treatment, the therapeutic effects of the two groups were compared. Results:the total effective rate of the two groups was 93.33% in the treatment group and 83.33% in the control group(P < 0.05).The comparison of VAS score and PSQI score between the two groups: before and after treatment, the difference was statistically significant(P < 0.01).Compared with the control group, the pain relief and sleep improvement in the treatment group were more significant. Conclusion: Compared with the treatment of postherpetic neuralgia with simple oral western medicine, the treatment of smokeless moxibustion combined with oral western medicine is more obvious in the improvement of symptoms, and the curative effect is more significant. It shows that the smokeless moxibustion therapy is safe and efficient, which is worth further clinical promotion.
