【Objective】High power(50W)and short duration(6-8s)with a force-sensing catheter(Thermocool Smart Touch? SF,Biosense Webster,Diamond Bar,USA)with a CF value of 5-15 g for radiofrequency catheter ablation of atrial fibrillation can form permanent lesions and reduce esophageal complications happened. To evaluate the safety and efficacy of high-power and short-duration radiofrequency catheter ablation for atrial fibrillation.【Materials and Methods】A prospective enrollment of 92 consecutive patients with paroxysmal atrial fibrillation and persistent atrial fibrillation who underwent catheter ablation of atrial fibrillation in our hospital from April 2017 to September 2018,was included as a study subjects. The low power group(control group)and the high power group(study group)were compared between the two groups in the atrial fibrillation ablation time,X-ray exposure time, radiation dose, operative complications and success rate after postoperative.【Results】The ablation time of atrial fibrillation in the control group and the study group were(173.57±53.30 min vs 139.37±50.73 min,P=0.002<0.05),the PAF ablation time were(157.71±49.78 vs 126.77±36.76 min,P=0.011)and the Pe AF ablation time were(206.33±45.99 vs 155±61.78 min,P=0.012),the differences between two groups were statistically significant. The fluoroscopy time and radiation dose were respectively(8.68±8.92 min vs 10.11±12.15 min,P=0.485)and(55.85±130.20 m G vs 24.58±35.79 m G,P=0.127),the differences was not statistically significant. There were no significant operative complications in two groups. After 6months of follow-up after postoperative, the sinus rhythm maintenance rate of the control group and the study group were(76.1% vs 80.0%,P=0.545),the differences were not statistically significant(P>0.05).【Conclusion】The high power and short duration compared with the control group can significantly decrease the atrial fibrillation ablation operation time, and does not increase the operative complications. The success rate of the study group is not lower than the traditional method of low power group, which is safe and effective method of Atrial fibrillation catheter ablation.
