Object:To investigate the effect of Songling Xuemaikang on arterial elasticity(tube wall stiffness)and its antihypertensive characteristics in patients with high risk of ACC/AHA stage 2 hypertension(grade 1hypertension).Methods: Designed as a randomized,double-blind,double-dummy,blank parallel controlled study.After 2 weeks of elution,stage 2 isolated systolic hypertension in the 30-79 years old,pulse pressure(PP)≥ 60 mm Hg In the patients,the protective effects of carvedilol + hydrochlorothiazide(control group,n=32)and Songlingxuemaikang(test group,n=35)on non-invasive measurement of brachial-ankle pulse wave velocity(ba PWV)were compared.The short-term effects on sitting systolic blood pressure(SBP)/PP were evaluated for 24 weeks.Result:After treatment,the SBP of the radial artery in the experimental group and the control group decreased significantly(P<0.001),but there was no difference in the SBP between the two groups(P>0.05).The DBP of the radial artery decreased significantly(P<0.001).Afterwards,there was still a significant difference in the mean DBP decline in the brachial artery of the control group(P<0.001);this resulted in a significant difference in the brachial artery PP between the two groups after treatment(P<0.001),and the PP reduction in the test group was more pronounced;The heart rate of both groups decreased significantly(P<0.001),but after adjusting for baseline difference,the difference of heart rate of the control group was stillsignificant(P<0.001);there was no significant change of ba PWV in the control group(P>0.05),The reduction of ba PWV in test groupmean was significant(P< 0.001).Conclusion:Unlike beta blockers,which mainly reduce diastolic blood pressure(DBP)and do not improve the elasticity of the aorta(tube wall stiffness),Songling Xuemai can reduce DBP without excessively reducing DBP,thereby reducing PP and On this basis,the aortic elasticity function(tube wall stiffness)is further improved,suggesting that it may delay vascular aging and produce a comprehensive protective effect against atherosclerosis.
