Objective: To observe the clinical effect of closed reduction and percutaneous pinning internal fixation and open reduction and internal fixation in traditional Chinese medicine bone-setting manipulation on children’s supracondylar fracture of the humerus, and to further study the advantages of treating children’s supracondylar fractures of the humerus by using closed reduction needling in traditional Chinese medicine bone-setting manipulation. Methods:A total of 80 patients met the inclusion criteria were selected from the patients with supracondylar fractures of the humerus who underwent traumatic injury and were enrolled in the Affiliated Hospital of Shandong University of Traditional Chinese Medicine from September 2016 to September2018.According to the different surgical methods,80 patients were randomly divided into two groups. The treatment group: 40 cases were treated with closed reduction and percutaneous pinning internal fixation in traditional Chinese medicine bone-setting manipulation;the control group: 40 cases were treated with open reduction and internal fixation in traditional Chinese medicine bone-setting manipulation for supracondylar fracture of the humerus.Statistical evaluation analysis was performed based on the information of the two groups of patients. The main indicators were: age, gender, location ofinjury, inpatient days, duration of operation, postoperative pain degree, postoperative scar, time to move after postoperative removal of plaster cast and Kirschner wire, flexion and extension function, fracture healing time, and excellent evaluation rate of Flynn, postoperative complications. The data was statistically analyzed by using SPSS20.0 software. Results: All cases were followed up for 6-18 months, with an average of 9 months. The fractures were clinically healed. There were no complications, such as infection, nonunion, internal fixation fracture, and deformed fracture at the fracture site. Conclusion: Closed reduction and percutaneous pinning internal fixation in traditional Chinese medicine bone-setting manipulation can be used to treat children with the severe supracondylar fracture of the humerus. The advantages are as follows:1.With anesthesia, children receiving reduction are less painful and have less feeling of fear;2.Percutaneous needle insertion avoids the re-displacement caused by the simple use of splint and plaster fixation;3.Pinning insertion is beneficial to the postoperative functional exercises;4.No surgical incision was made with percutaneous needle, which can effectively control the size of surgical scar, have good appearance, and reduce the psychological and physical damage to children;5.The operation is simple and easy to perform with small trauma and short operation time;6.The broken periosteum can be effectively protected, which reduces the damage to blood supply, and shortens the fracture healing time;7.Less postoperative pain reduces the psychological burden of children;8.Complications,such as postoperative incision infection and joint stiffness, are reduced;9.Short hospital stay and low cost reduce the burden of family. |
