Objective:The study was to explore the effect of serum zinc concentration on the basic secretion and release of islet α cells in patients with T2DM.Methods:After the inclusion and exclusion criteria,159 T2DM patients hospitalized in Sinopharm Dongfeng General Hospital from September 2019 to September 2020 were selected. We collected their basic data(gender, age, body mass index)and blood zinc concentration, glucagon release test, fasting blood glucose(FBG),Glycatedhemoglobin(Hb A1c)and other related biochemical indicators.Grouped them according to the concentration of serum zinc ion,G1(60umol/L≦blood zinc<85umol/L n=53),G2(85umol/L≦blood zinc < 97umol/L n=51),G3(97umol/L≦blood zinc<128umol/L n=55).Analyze the correlation between blood zinc concentration and fasting glucagon(GLC0h),the maximum increasing of glucagon in OGTT(GLCmax),the area under the curve of glucagon from 0 to 3 hours(AUCGLC0-3h),fasting blood glucose(FBG)and glycatedhemoglobin(Hb A1c).Results:1.Analysis of the relationship between zinc concentration and GLC0 h,GLCmax,AUCGLC0-3h,FBG,Hb A1 c by Spearman correlation coefficient. There is a strong negative correlation between zinc concentration and AUCGLC0-3h(r=-0.321,P<0.05),FBG(r=-0.37,P<0.001),Hb A1c(r=-0.307,P= 0.001<0.05).There is a weak negative correlation between zinc concentration and GLC0h(r=-0.236,P<0.05),GLCmax(r=-0.176,P=0.004<0.05)2.Comparison of related biochemical indexes in people with different zinc concentrationsSex ratio(c 2=5.247,P=0.073),age(F=0.246,P=0.782),body mass index(F=2.003,P=0.138),P>0.05,there was no significant difference between the groups.GLC0h(c2=7.62,P=0.022)、GLCmax(c2=7.236,P=0.027)、AUCGLC0-3h(c2=16.105,P=<0.001)、FBG(c2=23.827,P<0.001)、Hb A1c(c2=16.599,P<0.001)P<0.05,there was significant difference between the groups. Therefore, the differences in gender, age and body mass index among the groups in this study had no effect on the correlation between zinc and various biochemical indexes.Conclusion:(1)Zinc deficiency in T2DM patients changes the release pattern of glucagon in islet alpha cells. The lower the blood zinc concentration, the higher the patient’s GLC0h level, and the same goes for GLCmax,AUCGLC0-3h,FBG,Hb A1 c.(2)Routine zinc supplementation for T2DM patients may help blood glucose management. |
