PurposeMeta-analysis was used to evaluate the effect of Chinese herbs for tonifying kidney on the postoperative treatment of osteoporotic vertebral compression fracture.Data and methodsThe key words were osteoporosis vertebral compression fracture,tonifying kidney,PKP or PVP,percutaneous vertebroplasty or percutaneous kyphoplasty,and curative effect.The English key words are "osteporotic 0 ertebral compression fracture/ovcf","toning kidney","PKP" or "PVP" and "curative effect".The time limit is from January 1,2018 to the present.According to the inclusion and exclusion criteria established in the study,22 articles were finally included.A total of 1802 cases were included in the two trials,including 903 cases in the experimental group and 899 cases in the control group.Both groups of patients were treated with surgery,and received routine orthopedic care and corresponding rehabilitation training after surgery.In the control group,conventional western medicine was used for adjuvant treatment of osteoporosis,or other anti-osteoporosis drugs were not used for adjuvant treatment;On the basis of the control group,the experimental group was treated with Chinese medicine Bushen decoction.The outcomes included overall effectiveness of treatment,VAS,ODI,JOA score,bone mineral density,Cobb angle of kyphosis,and height of anterior edge of vertebral body.Rev Man5.4 was used for literature quality evaluation and data analysis.ResultTwo evaluators evaluated the quality and risk of the included literature according to the literature quality evaluation criteria in chochrane’s manual.The quality of the literature is generally not high,especially the systematic description of distribution concealment and blind method is lacking.The VAS scores of the two groups were analyzed: MD=-1.22,95%CI[-1.43,-1.02],P < 0.0001,and the difference was statistically significant,indicating that the experimental group had a better effect on reducing pain scores than the control group.The Cobb angle of kyphosis between the two groups was analyzed:MD=-4.56,95%CI [-5.34,-3.79],P < 0.00001,and the difference was statistically significant.Compared with the control group,the experimental group had a better effect on improving Cobb angle of kyphosis.The ODI scores of the two groups were analyzed: MD=-5.03,95%CI[-5.97,-4.09],P < 0.0001,and the difference was statistically significant,indicating that the experimental group had a better effect on reducing the ODI index than the control group.The JOA scores of the two groups were analyzed: MD=6.00,95%CI[5.12,6.88],P < 0.00001,and the difference was statistically significant,indicating that compared with the control group,the experimental group had a better effect on improving JOA scores,that is,compared with the control group,the experimental group had a better effect on restoring patients’ living ability and improving lumbar function.The bone mineral density of the two groups was analyzed: MD=0.12,95%CI [0.10,0.13],P < 0.00001,and the difference was statistically significant.Compared with the control group,the experimental group had a better effect on improving bone mineral density.The effective rates of the two groups were analyzed: OR=5.72,95%CI [3.68,8.90],P < 0.00001,and the difference was statistically significant.Compared with the control group,the experimental group had more advantages in improving the overall effective rate.The height of injured vertebrae in two groups was analyzed:MD=14.47,95% CI [10.08,1,8.86],P < 0.00001,and the difference was statistically significant,which indicated that the experimental group had a better recovery effect on the height of injured vertebrae than the control group.DiscussionDiscuss the specific methods of conservative treatment and the phenomenon that the curative effect of conservative treatment is generally worse than that of surgical treatment.Analyze and discuss the long-term curative effect and complications of patients with two surgical methods;Analyze the effect of traditional Chinese medicine on osteoporosis;Analyze the results of this research report and the shortcomings of this research.ConclusionBased on the basic theory of Chinese traditional medicine "kidney governs bone" and "tonifying kidney and promoting marrow",modern Chinese medicine has innovated many empirical prescriptions for anti-osteoporosis treatment,and applied the kidney-tonifying prescription to the adjuvant treatment after OVCF operation,which can effectively relieve pain,improve lumbar function,improve the stability of vertebral body,improve deformity and osteoporosis,and greatly improve the postoperative quality of life of patients.
