Purpose: Type 2 diabetes is one of the metabolic diseases that seriously affect human health and life. Its current treatment is expensive and the effect is unsatisfactory. Many studies have shown that the intestinal flora can regulate the metabolism and other physiological processes of diabetic patients. This study intends to use meta-analysis to evaluate the effects of probiotics on glucose and lipid metabolism, inflammation and oxidative stress in patients with T2DM.Methods: Based on the established literature search strategy and inclusion and exclusion criteria, this study retrieved relevant literature studies that were included in Pub Med,Embase,Medline,Web of science, the Cochrane Library, and CNKI as of January 1,2020.Two personnel independently carried out literature search and data extraction, and used Revman5.3 software to carry out quality evaluation,meta-analysis,forest diagram and funnel diagram drawing. Results:Compared with the control group, the fasting blood glucose levels [MD-0.63(-0.97,-0.29;P=0.0003)] and insulinemia [MD-9.48(-15.97,-2.98;P=0.004)] of T2DM patients taking probiotics significantly decreased, the triglyceride level [MD-0.09(-0.17,-0.02;P=0.02)] significantly decreased and HDL-C level [MD 0.04(0.01,0.07;P=0.005)]significantly increased, malondialdehyde level [SMD-0.19(-0.37,-0.01;P=0.04)] and glutathione level [MD 261.03(163.16,358.90;P<0.00001)] significantly increased,However, there is no significant change in Hb A1 c,HOMA-IR,total cholesterol,LDL-C,hs-CRP and TAS.Conclusion: Probiotics can reduce the fasting blood glucose and serum insulin levels of T2DM patients, reduce the serum triglyceride levels of T2DM patients, and increase the serum high-density lipoprotein cholesterol levels, which can help reduce the incidence of cardiovascular events and improve the prognosis of T2DM patients.Probiotics cannot improve the inflammation and oxidative stress in patients with T2DM.
