| Background: Non-specific low back pain(NSLBP)is an extremely common disease in clinical practice, and has a high incidence rate among college students. At present, although there are many treatment methods for NSLBP,there is no evidence that one simple treatment method is better than another.Chiropractic adjusting and trigger point therapy are two different methods of treating NSLBP with different ideas, both of which are popular and recommended abroad. The two methods have similarities in operation, but their principles and costs are quite different. Therefore,in order to select more suitable treatment tools and formulate suitable treatment plans, this study evaluated the therapeutic effects of different treatment ideas and treatment methods for NSLBP.Objective: The purpose is to explore the effects of two different treatment methods using chiropractic adjusting and trigger point therap on pain, low back dysfunction, trunk muscle explosive power, static balance ability, and muscle tension in college students with NSLBP,verify the effectiveness of the two methods, and compare the difference in effects of the two therapies. Methods: 45 college students with NSLBP who met the inclusion criteria were randomly divided into a chiropractic adjusting group of 15 people,a trigger point therapy group of 15 people, and a blank control group of 15 people. The chiropractic adjusting group and trigger point therapy group were treated with chiropractic adjusting and trigger point therapy 3 times a week for 4 consecutive weeks, respectively. The blank control group had no intervention. The relevant indicators of the three groups of subjects were collected and analyzed before the experiment and 4 weeks after the experiment.Results:(1)There was no significant difference in the basic conditions of the three groups of subjects and in the evaluation indicators of the three subjects before the experiment(P>0.05),which were comparable.(2)After 4 weeks of the experiment, the pain score, low back dysfunction index, trunk muscle power and static balance ability of the chiropractic adjusting group and trigger point therapy group were significantly different from those of the blank control group(P<0.05)and there was no significant difference between chiropractic adjusting and trigger point(P>0.05).(3)After 4 weeks of the experiment, the chiropractic adjusting group and trigger point therapy group had significant differences in the joint range of motion of lumbar flexion, left rotation, and right rotation compared with the blank control group(P<0.05),and there was no significant difference between chiropractic adjusting group and trigger point therapy group(P>0.05).Compared with the trigger point therapy group and the blank control group, the joint range of motion of the lumbar spine extension, left flexion and right flexion in the chiropractic adjusting group were significantly different(P<0.05).(4)After 4 weeks of the experiment, the waist muscle stiffness of the trigger point therapy group was significantly different from that of the chiropractic adjusting group and the blank control group(P<0.05).There were no significant differences in the stretchability and elasticity of the waist muscles in the three groups compared with those before the experiment(P>0.05).Conclusion:(1)Both chiropractic adjusting and trigger point therapy can effectively relieve the pain of college students with NSLBP,improve lumbar and back dysfunction, improve lumbar flexion, left rotation, right rotation joint mobility, and enhance trunk muscle explosive power and static balance and the two effects are equally good.(2)Chiropractic adjusting was significantly better than trigger point therapy in improving the degree of motion of the lumbar spine extension, left flexion, and right flexion in college students with NSLBP.(3)Trigger point therapy was significantly better than chiropractic adjusting in reducing the stiffness of the waist muscles of college students with NSLBP. |
