ObjectiveObjective to investigate the clinical effect of Shentong Zhuyu Decoction on axial symptoms after anterior cervical surgery for cervical spondylotic myelopathy(CSM),and to provide a new idea for the treatment of axial symptoms after anterior cervical surgery for CSM.MethodsThe 63 patients with cervical spondylotic myelopathy and axial symptoms were randomly divided into two groups,31 cases in the control group and 32 cases in the experimental group. All patients in the two groups were given detailed preoperative examination, detailed medical history and physical examination.VAS score,JOA score,NDI index score and body surface sensation were recorded in detail The results of evoked potential examination. The control group was treated with Mecobalamin 0.5mg TID and Celecoxib 200 mg QD on the first day after operation. On the first day after operation, the patients in the experimental group were treated with Mecobalamin0.5mg TID and Celecoxib 200 mg QD,at the same time with Jiawei Shentong Zhuyu Decoction, twice a day,7 days as a course of treatment. The patients in the experimental group were treated with traditional Chinese medicine for three courses,2 days in each interval, for a total of 21 days. The VAS score,JOA score,NDI index and amplitude of somatosensory evoked potential were observed and recorded 1 day before operation,1 week,3 months and 6 months after operation. The therapeutic effect was evaluated according to the standard of traditional Chinese medicine.Results1.There was no significant difference in gender, age, body mass index(BMI),cervical spine segment between the two groups(P > 0.05).2.After 6 months of treatment,VAS score,JOA score,NDI index and amplitude ofsomatosensory evoked potential were compared between the two groups.VAS score: Within group comparison, the two groups were significantly lower than before(P< 0.05),the comparison between groups showed that the experimental group decreased more significantly than the control group(P < 0.05).JOA score: the two groups were significantly improved after operation(P < 0.05);the comparison between the two groups showed that the experimental group was better than the control group(P < 0.05).NDI index: the two groups were significantly improved after operation(P < 0.05);the experimental group was significantly improved than the control group(P < 0.05).The amplitude of somatosensory evoked potential: the amplitude of somatosensory evoked potential in the two groups was significantly improved after operation(P < 0.05);the amplitude of somatosensory evoked potential in the experimental group was significantly improved than that in the control group(P < 0.05).According to the statistics, the effective rate of the experimental group was 73.3%,the effective rate was 26.7%;the effective rate of the control group was 63.3%,the effective rate was36.7%;there was no invalid treatment in both groups.ConclusionsJiawei Shentong Zhuyu Decoction has good clinical effect on axial symptoms of cervical spondylotic myelopathy after anterior cervical surgery,it can promote neck blood circulation, improve postoperative axial symptoms, promote postoperative rehabilitation and improve the quality of life, which is worthy of clinical promotion.
