The purpose of this study is to understand the attitude and actual situation of patients with polycystic ovary syndrome towards shared decision-making,which is helpful for patients to make more satisfactory clinical decisions and to promote shared decision-making as a key measure for the development of medical and health undertakings.Objectives:1.Investigate doctors’ attitude towards patients’ participation in decision-making and analyze the influencing factors.2.Investigate the tendency and actual degree of decision-making participation of patients with polycystic ovary syndrome and analyze the influencing factors.3.Investigate the extent to which doctors promote patients’ participation in decision-making and analyze the influencing factors.Methods:1.A total of 108 gynecologists from two tertiary hospitals were selected to conduct an investigation using the Shared Decision Making Questionnaire Physician Version to obtain the attitudes and actual situation of doctors on the participation of patients with PCOS in treatment decision-making.2.Questionnaire was used to investigate patients in gynecological outpatient department of tertiary hospitals. The contents of the questionnaire included the general information of patients and the Control Preference Scale(CPS).The tendency and actual situation of patients with PCOS to participate in the decision-making of treatment methods were summarized and the influencing factors were analyzed.3.By using the observer scale, researchers score the communication between doctors and patients in the process of doctor-patient communication, summarize the current situation of doctors promoting patients to participate in decision-making and analyze the influencing factors.Results:1.The average score of 108 clinicians was 84.28±12.09,according to the questionnaire survey of 108 clinicians in gynecology related fields. The general information of doctors, such as working years, education background and professional title, had no obvious influence on whether doctors could make joint decisions with patients with PCOS,while age(P<0.05)had an influence on doctors’ inclusion of patients with PCOS in shared treatment decisions.2.Through a questionnaire survey of 234 patients with polycystic ovary syndrome, the following results were obtained:among 234 patients,12 patients tended to be active(5.1%),153 patients tended to be cooperative(65.4%),and 69 patients tended to be passive(29.5%).There were 13 cases of active type(5.6%),85 cases of cooperative type(36.3%)and 136 cases of passive type(58.1%).There were statistically significant differences between PCOS patients’ decision-making participation tendency and actual decision-making situation in tertiary hospitals(P<0.01).Multivariate Logistic regression analysis showed that education level(OR=17.840,95%CI(6.175,51.539))and monthly family income(OR=3.074,95%CI(1.538,6.144)]were the factors that affected the decision-making participation tendency of PCOS patients(P<0.05).Education level(OR=4.529,95%CI(2.468,8.311))and monthly family income(OR=1.461,95%CI(1.045,2.044)]were the factors affecting the actual decision-making of PCOS patients.3.Doctors have a good awareness of promoting patients’ participation in decision-making,and patients’ age(P<0.05)and educational level(P<0.05)have influences on the current situation of doctors’ promoting patients’ participation.Conclusion:1.The situation of doctors in the clinical work to promote patients to participate in decision-making is good, and age is the main influencing factor.2.Most PCOS patients prefer to participate in decision making, but the actual decision environment has large differences with consciousness.Lacking of medical knowledge in practical decision makes patients rely too much on the doctors. In clinical work, most of the formulation of treatment plans is still dominated by doctors, and patients and their families focus on informed consent, ignoring the way to participate in the formulation of medical plans.3.The observers believed that the application of the shared decision-making model in patients with PCOS was good, and the age and educational level of patients were two factors that influenced doctors to promote patients’ participation in decision-making.
