Discussion On The Correlation Between Hot And Cold Snare Polypectomy For Colorectal Polyps Sized Less Than 10 Mm

Objective:To compare the operation time,treatment cost,complete resection rate,complication rates and recurence rate between two different optimal techniques,cold snare polypectomy(CSP)and hot snare polypectomy(HSP),of the patients in Northeast Sichuan.Methods:We admitted 200 patients with small colorectal polyps sized less than 10 mm from the Second Affiliated Hospital of North Sichuan Medical College and People’s Hospital of Gaoping District from 01/01/2020 to 31/10/2020 as the research object.200 patients were randomized 1:1 to CSP and HSP group.Differences between the two groups were compared by statistics.Results:1.The operation time of the cold snare polypectomy group was 11.62±1.05min,the operation time of the hold snare polypectomy group was 12.75±1.13min,longer than the CSP group.And the difference between the two groups was statistically significant(P<0.05).2.The treatment cost of the cold snare polypectomy group was RMB￥ 281.0,the treatment cost of the hold snare polypectomy group was RMB￥ 705.0,more than the CSP group.And the difference between the two groups was statistically significant.3.Both of the complete resection rate of the two groups was 100%.There was no significant difference in the complete resection rate between the two groups(P>0.05).4.The complication rates of the cold snare polypectomy group was 0%,the treatment cost of the hold snare polypectomy group was 6%,more than the CSP group.And the difference between the two groups was statistically significant(P<0.05).5.Both of the recurernce rate of the two groups was 0%.There was no significant difference in the complete resection rate between the two groups(P>0.05).Conclusion:1.Both of the cold snare polypectomy and the hold snare polypectomy were efficacy and safety for the patients with colorectal polyps sized less than 10 mm.Cold snare polypectomy is significantly better than hold snare polypectomy in operation time,treatment cost,and recurernce rate.CSP shows shorter procedure time,lower treatment cost and lower recurernce rate.2.For patients with colorectal polyps sized less than 10 mm,we recommend CSP as the standard treatment for resecting.
