Design And Research On Reminiscence Therapy System Of Smart Speaker For The Elderly With Dementia

Artificial intelligence technology has penetrated into the daily life of education,medical treatment,elderly care and other fields.The traditional industries are constantly changing to intelligence.This paper discusses the auxiliary care for the elderly with dementia from the perspective of design.With the development of global aging,the prevalence of dementia is also increasing.There are about 10 million people with alzheimer’s disease in China,and there are about 50 million people in the world.It is expected that the number of alzheimer’s disease patients worldwide will reach 152 million by 2050.The development of dementia in the elderly from mild cognitive impairment to severe dementia and even death may take years or even decades.The social cost of dementia is high and the nursing pressure is great,and so far there is no drug treatment that can completely cure dementia.In the field of non-drug therapy,reminiscence therapy as a new nursing treatment has been widely studied.This paper attempts to use music as the trigger point of reminiscence therapy,with the help of smart speaker equipment and smart voice technology to realize the reminiscence therapy system of smart speaker for the elderly with dementiaThrough collecting and sorting out domestic and foreign literatures and cases,conducting offline interviews with psychiatrists,artificial intelligence technology experts and elderly with dementia,this paper summarized the user characteristics and needs,found technical solutions and conducted design research.The thesis carries out design research from the following aspects(1)Through the investigation and understanding of dementia,understand the characteristics of elderly with dementia and their caregivers,understand user needs,and find the design direction.(2)Recognize non-drug therapy,summarize the application of reminiscence therapy and explore its role,and find design tools and methods(3)re-integrate reminiscence therapy under intelligent technology to provide technical support for design practice(4)design smart speaker reminiscence therapy application "timechick".To develop a reminiscence therapy that use the nostalgic music as the trigger and through voice interaction to identify the user’s emotion and form a personalized emotional playlist.
