Study On Farmers’ Willingness To Raise Rabbits And Its Influencing Factors In Mengyin County

Combining with the regional characteristics of Mengyin County and the long-standing rabbit-keeping tradition,we should adapt to local conditions,give full play to local advantages,stimulate and enhance the willingness of local farmers to keep rabbits,and vigorously develop rabbit-keeping characteristic industries.On the one hand,we can make full use of local characteristic resources,build local brands,and enhance local economic strength.On the other hand,it can also help local farmers find more income-increasing channels,provide jobs for farmers and increase their economic income.This paper focuses on exploring the influencing factors of farmers’ willingness to keep rabbits in Mengyin County,designs questionnaires from the aspects of farmers’ individual characteristics,family characteristics,social characteristics and willingness to keep rabbits,distributes questionnaires to permanent farmers in various towns and villages in Mengyin County,and builds a model to analyze the influencing factors of farmers’ willingness to keep rabbits in Mengyin County by using Logistic regression equation.Through the research of this paper,we want to find out the influencing factors that will significantly affect farmers’ willingness to keep rabbits,and put forward corresponding policy suggestions according to the final results,so as to put forward corresponding policy suggestions for Mengyin County to achieve the goal of broadening farmers’ income channels,encouraging farmers to keep rabbits and improving farmers’ livelihood.The results of binary Logistic regression analysis on the influencing factors of farmers’ willingness to keep rabbits in Mengyin County and the corresponding countermeasures and suggestions can be summarized as follows: First,the Logistic model regression results show that farmers’ willingness to keep rabbits is significantly affected by livelihood capital.In terms of personal characteristics,the participation of labor force in ecological engineering construction will have a significant positive impact on farmers’ willingness to keep rabbits,while the age of labor force and farmers’ mastery of a certain skill or craft have a significant negative impact on farmers’ willingness to keep rabbits.In terms of family characteristics,the area of family woodland has a significant negative effect on farmers’ willingness to keep rabbits,and the level of agricultural income will have a significant negative effect on farmers’ willingness to keep rabbits.In terms of social characteristics,farmers who are familiar with public officials are more likely to have the willingness to raise rabbits than those who are unfamiliar with government officials.Secondly,in order to stimulate farmers’ willingness to raise rabbits and help the healthy and stable development of local rabbit industry,the following measures are put forward,such as providing accurate assistance and organizing publicity activities on a regular basis;Organize ecological engineering construction and call on local farmers to actively participate;Open the communication and feedback channels between the government and farmers.This study provides research ideas for the follow-up research on farmers’ willingness to keep rabbits,provides scientific basis for helping local rabbit industry to develop healthily,and provides countermeasures and suggestions for farmers to increase their economic income..
