| Feline corneal sequestrum is one of the veterinary clinical common disease, most of them are caused by long-term chronic irritation, which poses a great threat to the cat’s vision. At present, there are many studies on this disease abroad, showing a variety of treatment programs, but few studies in China. In this study,Feline necrotic keratitis in Anhui Baihu Pet Hospital was taken as the research object, and different treatment schemes for feline necrotic keratitis were compared and analyzed,in order to provide some data references for clinicians in treatment selection. Methods :(1)A total of 116 cases of feline necrotizing keratitis were analyzed by case review. The age, gender, breed, period, feeding environment and vaccination status of selected cases were analyzed statistically.(2)A total of 116 cats of different breeds were selected and divided into 4 groups(conservative treatment group, pedicled conjunctival flap group, lamellar keratoplasty group, and Artificial biological cornea mesh group). The treatment plan and effect of these 4 groups were compared and analyzed. Results :(1)Among 116 cases of feline necrotizing keratitis,67 cases were Garfield cats(56.76%),12 American Shorthair cats(10.30%),20 English Shorthair cats(17.24%),1 Russian Blue cat(0.86%),10 Gingella(8.62%),and 5 Country cats(4.31%).Sixty-four(55.17%)feline herpes virus type I(FHV-1)positive cases,23(19.82%)cases with different level of eyelid entropion,19(16.38%)long-term superficial corneal ulcer, and 10(8.62%)of unknown cause were diagnosed in 116 feline necrotizing keratitis by detailed ophthalmological examination and laboratory PCR.Among the factors of feeding environment,56 cases had one family cat,and 60 cases had two or more cats.Among the 116 cases of feline necrotizing keratitis,78 cases were completely immunized(67.24%),20 cases had never been vaccinated(17.24%),and 18 cases had unknown vaccine(15.51%).There were more female than male cats in statistical cases.(2)There were 19 patients in the conservative treatment group, including 8 patients with perforation(42.11%),6 patients with severe scar recovery(31.58%),3 patients with mild scar recovery(15.79%),and 2 patients(10.53%)who had not fallen off so far.Of the 35 patients in the pedicled conjunctival flap group,33(94.29%)were discharged from hospital one week after surgery, and 2(5.71%)had conjunctival flap fallen off and underwent a second operation. All cases had some level of corneal scar one year after operation.Lamellar keratoplasty was performed in 32 patients.Among them,31 cases(96.88%)were discharged 2 weeks after operation,and1 case with fungal infection and was discharged 3 weeks after operation.Half a year after surgery, there was almost no scar.In the artificial biological corneal mesh treatment group of 30 cases,24 cases(80.00%)were discharged 2 weeks after surgery, and 6 cases(20.00%)had poor growth with the artificial biological corneal patch. Conclusion :(1)Necrotizing keratitis in cats is associated with feline herpes virus type I and chronic corneal irritation.(2)brachyrhinia breeds such as Garfield are prone to disease;(3)Corneal conjunctival lamellar keratoplasty has the best postoperative effect. |
