With the development of time, forest carbon sequestration is considered to be an effective solution to the global warming situation. In addition, forest carbon credit projects help to promote the overall forestry level, which is a good way to promote sustainable development. As an important participant and stakeholder of forest carbon sequestration projects, farmers’ overall evaluation of the multiple benefits of project development not only directly determines their willingness to continue to participate in and promote the development of forest carbon sequestration projects, but also plays an important role in implementing China’s commitment to increase sinks and reduce emissions, and promote the construction of ecological civilization.Analyzing the factors influencing farmers’ perception of the value of forest carbon sink projects and understanding the main reasons influencing farmers’ subjective feelings towards forest carbon sink projects can help farmers enhance their willingness to participate in forest carbon sink projects,so as to promote farmers’ participation and the development of forest carbon sink projects, and ultimately achieve the multiple objectives of increasing local income, promoting social development and mitigating global climate problems.Based on the farmers’ perspective and the theories of perceived value theory, ecological compensation theory and behavioral economics, this paper combs through the literature to identify the factors that influence the farmers’ perceived value of forest carbon sequestration projects, including personal characteristics, family characteristics, social characteristics and external environmental characteristics.Data obtained through field research and empirical analysis reveal the main factors that influence farmers’ perception of the value of forest carbon sequestration projects, and the following conclusions are drawn.(1)By obtaining farmers’ perception value of forest carbon sequestration projects,it is found that most of the farmers agree that the benefits of forest carbon sequestration projects outweigh the disadvantages, which means that the positive effect perception of forest carbon sequestration projects is greater than the negative effect perception, which means that most of the farmers have a positive attitude of welcoming and supporting the projects.(2)Significantly influencing farmers’ perception of the value of forest carbon sequestration projects are gender, whether they are village cadres, forest area, labor force size, whether they benefit from forest carbon sequestration, whether they enjoy policy support, whether they trust the government, etc. All these factors positively and significantly influence farmers’ perception of the value of forest carbon sequestration projects.(3)Influencing factors affect the final perceived value by influencing farmers’ perception of positive and negative effects of forest carbon sequestration projects.Based on the above findings, corresponding countermeasures are proposed to improve farmers’ perception of the value of forest carbon sequestration projects and enhance farmers’ willingness to participate in forest carbon sequestration projects so as to promote the continuous development of forest carbon sequestration projects.
