| This thesis discusses the integration of RFID technology and wireless sensor networks. Sensors were used to extend the coverage of RFID solutions. The integration of these two emerging technologies enabled us to propose a new application that is a system management bus.;In this study, we have also developed a simulation tool enabling users to measure reliability of RFID solutions under real word conditions. The simulator acts on the power attenuation of the reader to simulate the distance between the tag and the reader. The developed tool provides visual real time information on the reading performances allowing the user to choose the best RFID configuration giving the maximum reading range.;To validate our results, we conducted experimental study to highlight some operational problems of RFID installation like tag orientation and object effect. The results provided by the simulator are very encouraging and show the potential of our method for assisting RFID integrators to enhance the reliability of their applications.;Key words: RFID, integration, WSN, simulation, performance. |
