Implementation of the IEEE software development quality management standards

The Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) Software Development Quality Standards, an effective quality management system, has been proven in the past and can be used to build robust software into the future. This document describes the critical areas required to successfully implement the IEEE quality program via the elements of the IEEE standards.;This document presents how companies can benefit from the IEEE standards across vertical and horizontal functional organizations. Companies frequently deploy software hastily, neglecting to implement standards that ensure quality throughout all developmental stages. If they do follow standards, they often misuse, misapply, or underutilize them. This thesis presents the accumulation of software engineering process standards and show how they can be applied to building quality software from a systematic perspective.;The information for the creation of this document was primarily derived from the volumes of IEEE Quality Process Standards literature available.
