Controversial science and technology topics face two major problems in the dissemination process: First,the limitation of cultural levels makes it difficult for most audiences to directly and comprehensively understand scientific knowledge with strong professionalism;The impact of effective information continuously strengthens the “uncertainty” brought about by technological risks,which in turn increases the cognitive confusion of the audience.These two problems have led to controversial technology topics becoming a source of communication risk.Thinking about the spread of controversial technology topics from the perspective of risk communication,it can be found that the contradictions between the parties in the communication of technology are exactly the reflection of risk.The dissemination process of controversial science and technology topics is the process by which the media helps the public to break down technological barriers and resolve contradictions.Therefore,improving the effectiveness of media communication can help reduce the risk of communication brought about by controversial scientific topics."The problem of genetically modified foods" is a controversial scientific topic that has been highly discussed in recent years and is most closely related to people's lives.In summary,this article selects the "Genetically Modified Food" report from the "Science and Technology Daily" from January 1,2000 to December 31,2019 for 20 years as the research object.From the perspective of risk propagation theory,combined with frame theory Text for analysis.The specific research is divided into three steps:First,study category construction.The research in this article is centered on three levels: high,medium and low.High-level analysis includes four dimensions: "Report Volume","Report Length","Report Genre" and "Report Theme".Middle-level analysis includes "source"," Opinion presentation " and " reporting tendency ";low-level analysis includes two dimensions: " rhetorical approach " and " use of scientific terms ".Second,combine the content analysis method and simple quantitative statistics method to statistics,analyze and summarize the characteristics of each dimension of the sample.Third,the text analysis method is used to interpret the media ideology contained in the sample,determine the content orientation and value orientation of media reports,compare the gap between the media reality and social reality presented in the report,and find "Science and Technology Daily" on this basis Successes and shortcomings in the report,and suggestions for improvement and optimization.The research found that the advantages of the GM Food report in the "Science andTechnology Daily" are as follows: First,the focus on the issue of GM food is continuous,and it can keep up with the evolution and hotspots of the issue;second,the scientific community and government agencies are the central discourses The communication model demonstrates a serious attitude to technology;finally,the report genre is diverse,and popular writing can turn esoteric into easy.However,the "Science and Technology Daily" report also has the following shortcomings:firstly,the content of the report is not comprehensive enough to meet the needs of the audience;secondly,the subjective tendency of the report is obvious,which proves that the position of the report is not objective and fair;The lack of public discourse also indicates that audience attitudes have been neglected.According to the advantages and disadvantages of the sample report,the author believes that Science and Technology Daily can improve and optimize the report from the following four aspects: the transformation of the transmission mode to a democratic mode,integration of humanistic care,seeking multi-party cooperation,and strengthening the cultivation of its scientific literacy.At the end of the paper,the author summarizes the role and responsibilities of the media in the dissemination of controversial scientific topics.
