In recent years,with the improvement of software security solutions,the security of hardware has become the focus of people's attention.A new type of hardware attack called hardware Trojan has become a new research topic and hotspot.The hardware Trojan detection is studied in this paper based on the temperature analysis.Firstly,the circuit of SM4 cipher algorithm is realized by verilog language.Then a key-leaking hardware Trojan is designed based on the SM4 cryptographic algorithm.This paper verifies the hardware Trojan and SM4 cryptographic algorithm by Modelsim software.Through the Quartus II software analysis,it is concluded that the hardware Trojan has the characteristics of small area and low power consumption.After the hardware Trojan design has a certain understanding of the hardware Trojan,the ring oscillator is used as a temperature sensor to extract the temperature inside the FPGA.The principle is that the frequency of the ring oscillator can feedback the temperature change.In this paper,the analyze of the theoretical formula shows that the frequency of the ring oscillator is affected by temperature.SU-661 small environmental experiment box is selected as the test environment.The small experimental environment box can meet the test requirements of four conditions including constant temperature condition setting,temperature range,temperature regulation and temperature real-time monitoring.The ring oscillator was subjected to data acquisition experiments at intervals of 5? in the temperature range of 10? to 45?.It was confirmed by collecting 100 sets of data that the frequency of the ring oscillator was affected by temperature.The implantation of the hardware Trojan can affect the circuit.By comparing the frequency of the ring oscillator between the circuit that is not embedded in the hardware Trojan and the circuit to be tested,it can draw conclution about whether the hardware Trojan is embedded in the circuit.The design of the hardware Trojan detection based on this principle will be implemented and tested on the Altera cyclone II.Experimental results show that this method can effectively detect hardware Trojans.
