Due to the development and update of Internet technology with the improvement of the age,people's life is more and more closely related to the network.At the same time,researchers are paying more and more extensive attention to the security and reliability of the network.Using appropriate topology measurement methods for network topology measurement and understanding the network topology structure benefit for managing and supervising the network more and more effectively.First,this thesis studies the Internet IP level topology measurement based on the TCP packet.The experiment uses Paris traceroute which based on TCP SYN packet.We explores the availability of source ports and destination ports by iterating through all ports.According to the experimental results,we divide the source ports and destination ports into multiple lists.We adopt sampling method to validate the availability of different port lists.Then,we get the available and unavailable source port lists and destination port lists.Next,this thesis focuses on studying evaluation metrics of topology measurement methods.With the aid of evaluation metrics,we can judge the effect of different of topology measurement methods.We analysis the advantages and disadvantages of the existed evaluation metrics.And then we put forward a new evaluation metric.In the end,we compare and analysis different IP level topology measurement methods.Using existed and new evaluation metrics,we compare and analysis the performance of Paris traceroute which based on ICMP,UDP and TCP SYN packet.It is helpful for selecting appropriate topology measurement methods according to the reality measurement needs.And we compare and analysis the IP level topology measurement data sets which collected by Ark.We can get the measurement effect of the IP level topology measurement at different time,and know the difference of different evaluation metrics when they reflect the measurement effect.
