Clinical Observation Of Duhuo Jisi Mixture Combined With Glucosamine In The Treatment Of Knee Osteoarthritis With Deficiency Of Liver And Kidney

Objective: To observe whether Duhuo Jisheng Mixture combined with glucosamine hydrochloride has a synergistic effect about knee osteoarthritis of liver and kidney deficiency.Methods: 90 patients with knee osteoarthritis of liver and kidney deficiency were randomly divided into three groups: Duhuo Jisheng Mixture group,Combination group and Glucosamine hydrochloride group.There were 30 cases in each group.Duhuo Jisheng Mixture group was treated with Duhuo Jisheng Mixture,Combination group was treated with Glucosamine Hydrochloride Capsule on the basis of using Duhuo Jisheng Mixture and Glucosamine hydrochloride group was treated with Glucosamine Hydrochloride Capsule for 6 weeks.We evaluated clinical efficacy in terms of TCM syndrome score,VAS pain score,Lequesne KOA index,WOMAC scale,Lysholm knee function score,knee joint KSS score,WHOQOL--BREF quality of life scale.At last,we evaluated the safety.Results: Inter-group efficacy analysis:(1)Efficient: After 6 weeks of treatment,the effective rates of TCM syndrome points in Combination group,Duhuo Jisheng Mixture group and Glucosamine hydrochloride group were 100.00%,92.86% and 89.66%.The efficient of Combination group was significantly better than Duhuo Jisheng Mixture group and Glucosamine hydrochloride group(P<0.01);(2)TCM syndrome:The TCM syndrome score of Combination group was significantly lower than Duhuo Jisheng Mixture group and Glucosamine hydrochloride group(P<0.01);(3)Joint pain: The VAS pain score of Combination group was significantly lower than Duhuo Jisheng Mixture group and Glucosamine hydrochloride group(P<0.05);(4)Knee function: The WOMAC scale score of Combination group was significantly lower than Duhuo Jisheng Mixture group and Glucosamine hydrochloride group(P<0.01);The Lequesne index of Combination group was significantly lower than Duhuo Jisheng Mixture group and Glucosamine hydrochloride group(P<0.05);The Lysholm knee function score of Combination group was significantly higher than Duhuo Jisheng Mixture group(P<0.01),but there was no significant difference with Glucosamine hydrochloride group(P>0.05);The KSS(clinical score)of the knee joint in Combination group was significantly higher than Duhuo Jisheng Mixture group and Glucosamine hydrochloride group(P<0.05);(5)KSS(total functional score)of the knee joint,there was no statistical significance among the three groups(P>0.05).Quality of life: WHOQOL-BREF life scale score,there was no statistical significance among the three groups(P>0.05).Analysis of the efficacy within the group: We compared the three groups before treatment with those after 3 and 6 weeks of the treatment,there were significant differences in TCM syndrome integral efficiency,TCM syndrome score,VAS pain score,Lequesne KOA index,WOMAC scale,Lysholm knee joint function score,knee joint KSS(clinical score and total functional score)score,and WHOQOL--BREF quality of life scale(P<0.01).Safety evaluation: One case in Combination group and Glucosamine hydrochloride group each had a mild stomach pain,which was relieved by omeprazole acid-suppressing and stomach-protecting treatment.There was no statistically significant difference in adverse reactions among the three groups(P>0.05),and the safety was good.Conclusion: Duhuo Jisheng Mixture and Glucosamine hydrochloride Capsule combined treatment of knee osteoarthritis,those have a synergistic effect,which can effectively relieve the clinical symptoms of knee osteoarthritis,relieve pain,improve function and the quality of life.It is a safe and effective method that is worthy of clinical promotion.
