Objective: The author aims to assess the safety, practicability and clinical significance of the combination treatment by observing the clinical efficacy and recurrence rate of Moving cupping therapy combined with Traditional Chinese medicine in the treatment of chronic eczema(blood deficiency and wind dryness type). Methods: According to the inclusion criteria,70 patients are divided randomly into the Combination Treatment Group and the Control Group. The patients in control group is treated by Siwuxiaofeng powder(a traditional Chinese medicine formula),while those in the combination treatment group receives moving cupping therapy on Urinary bladder channel of foot-taiyang(UB).The patients in both groups get the assessment on the total effect after two courses of treatment, each course of treatment for 2 weeks. The primary efficacy indicator includes the Eczama Area and Severity Index(EASI)score,Visual Analogue Score(VAS)and The Quality of Life Scale for Chronic Eczema Patients(EQOLS)score. The differences on EASI and VAS score are compared at 2nd week and 4th week. After the treatment courses for 4 weeks, the author makes an analysis on the safety of the treatment and visits and observes the effective cured patients 3months later. All the data collected gets statistical analysis by SPSS21.0software.Results:(1)Compared with the EASI scores(total score, single index score)and VAS scores in the two groups, there is a significant statistical difference(P < 0.05).The treatments on both groups could effectively reduce the symptoms of skin lesions, improve the itching and the quality of life.(2)After a course of treatment,between-group comparison has no significant difference on EASI and VAS score(P< 0.05).The treatments on two groups are effective.(3)After two course of treatment, there is a significant difference between the two groups in score of EASI(P < 0.05).The improvement of skin lesions of the treatment group are significantly higher than those of the control group, especially the skin manifestation of papule and like bryophyte. There is a significant difference between the two groups in score of VAS(P < 0.05)and score of EQOLS(P < 0.05),the improvement of the itching and the quality of life of the treatment group is significantly higher than those of the control group.(4)Results excellence rate and total effective rate were 82.86% in the treatment group and 62.86%in the control group,in treatment group is significantly better than that in control group it showed better clinical effect(P < 0.05).(5)The recurrence rate is 10.34% in the treatment group and 40.90% in the control group. The therapeutic effect with a low recurrence rate of the treatment group is better than that of the control group(P<0.05).(6)No serious adverse events occurs in both groups.Conclusion:(1)Moving cupping therapy combined with Traditional Chinese medicine, compared with monotherapies based on Traditional Chinese medicine, provides a better effect on the treatment of chronic eczema(blood deficiency and wind dryness type)with a lower recurrence, including improving the quality of life and preventing recurrence.(2)The treatment on the combination treatment group could effectively reduce the symptoms of skin lesions(especially the skin manifestation like papule or bryophyte)and improve the itching than that on the control group.(3)The treatment on the combination group is an effective and safe way for chronic eczema with tolerable adverse events, which, based on the results, may be implemented in clinical practice for patients who refuse long-term medication.
