Purpose:To investigate the efficacy and prognostic factors of conbercept(KH-902)intravitreal injection for treating central macular edema due to branch retinal vein occlusion(BRVO).Methods:This research is a randomized controlled clinic trial.Patients are all from ophthalmology department of Jiangsu provincial peoples’hospital.Patients were diagnosed with macular edema due to BRVO after went through a series of eye exams. Then they were randomly divided into two subgroups:the I VC(conbercept intravitreal injection)group and the control group.Information of the patients was collected and FFA,OCT,BCVA(ETDRS)were performed before treatment as baseline data.Patients in IVC group received 0.5ml IVC in a Pro Re Nata(PRN)mode while patients in control group received conventional grid laser with a minimal interval of 16 weeks.Patients in both group were investigated every 4 weeks and the investigator would decide the next plan based on patients’ BCVA and OCT results. The whole follow-up for all patients were 24 weeks. If a patient didn’t act well during this period,a recue therapy of scatter laser will be given to this patient. Results:A total of 39 patients were included in this trial.20 of them were in IVC group and 19 were in control group. This clinic trial showed that the efficacy of IVC is significantly better than grid laser.Patients in IVC group resulted in a mean BCVA increase of 19.15±3.07 ETDRS(early treatment diabetic retinopathy study)letters, while in control group were only 9.58±11.18 letters. Also, the mean central macular thickness(CMT)of IVC group decreased by 246.75±197.01um while the control group only got 193.58±124.98um.No SAEs(Serious Adverse Event)were observed during treatment and follow-up.After analyzing the information collected from patients in IVC group,we found that the age and baseline BCVA can be prognostic factors for I VC treated patients. Conclusion:The efficacy of conbercept is significantly higher than grid laser.Patients received conbercept observed a quick absorption of macular edema and BCVA improvement.Conbercept can be an effective and safe method for treating macular edema due to BRVO...
