In modern warfare,the survival of armored vehicles depends on passive and active protection systems.Generally,the active protection system is an effective method to reduce the damage of armored vehicles.Based on the current research situation of active protection technology all over the world,a new interception system using a metal porous plate as an interception to detonate the incoming projectiles was presented.The interception system achieves a form of face-to-line active interception,which improves the interception range and probability.This paper introduced a scheme of the active protection system using a metal porous plate as an interception,and designed the porous plate,the pulling body and the servo platform.According to the principle of incoming projectile fuze,the overload pressure caused by high-speed impact makes the fuse of the incoming projectile detonate the warhead in advance,thus reducing or relieving the threat of incoming projectiles.Using the LS-DYNA software platform,the process of intercepting incoming projectiles was carried out which provides a theoretical basis for the design of the porous plate based on the characteristics of the overload pressure obtained from the simulation.The interception probability of the active protection system is an important technical index to evaluate the performance of the active protection system.The intersection model of a porous plate intercepting the incoming projectile was established.An improved genetic algorithm was utilized to yield the optimal parameters for launch system.Monte Carlo method was used to calculate the intercept probability with different errors,and the influence of key variables on the interception probability was analyzed.The results show that the measurement error of target slant range and target speed influence the interception probability significantly.Contrarily,the error of target azimuth,porous plate launching angle and porous plate launching speed has little influence on interception probability within a definite error range.The porous plate interception type active protection system designed in this paper is suitable for the incoming projectile with a speed between 100m/s to 500m/s which equipped with mechanical or electrical triggered fuze.When the size of the square plate ranges between lm X lm to 1.2 m X 1.2 m and the intercept distance ranges between 3m to 5m,the interception effect is the best.According to the designed parameters,static explosion tests and dynamic interception tests were carried out.The system intercepted and detonated the incoming projectiles successfully,which proves the principle of this interception is correct and the active protection system based on the porous plate is feasible.
