In recent years, entrepreneurship has become one of the main driving forces for China's economic development. However, entrepreneurship is faced with the characteristics of rapid technology replacement, high risk, and inter-enterprise interaction. Therefore, entrepreneurship is mostly carried out in the form of entrepreneurial teams. However,at present, our country is facing problems such as higher failure rate of team-based entrepreneurship, which requires the entrepreneurial team to value entrepreneurial opportunities.Entrepreneurial opportunities are not only the beginning of entrepreneurship, but also the core motivation and source of performance for the continuous development of entrepreneurial activities. Therefore, improving the ability to identify entrepreneurial opportunities is the key to increase the success rate of entrepreneurship. However, there is a lack of integration analysis of team cognition and entrepreneurial opportunity recognition in the existing research models, thus ignoring the complex effects of the team's common psychological cognitive structure on opportunity recognition. For this reason, this paper adopts the theoretical paradigm of “Shared mental model-team communication-Business opportunity recognition” and uses literature research and empirical research methods, deeply digging out the mechanism of the shared mental model on recognition of entrepreneurial opportunities, exploring the relationship between shared mental models and team communication, and revealing the direct and indirect effects of the sharing of mental models by entrepreneurial teams on the identification of opportunities. It has great theoretical value and practical significance in enriching the research on business opportunity recognition and shared mental model, optimizing entrepreneurial team management practices, motivating team growth, and prospering entrepreneurial economies. This study first reviewed relevant literature, proposed theoretical models and research hypotheses, and then developed a questionnaire on shared mental models, team communication, and entrepreneurial opportunity recognition through the Maturity Scale.Questionnaires were distributed to the MBA students who were conducting team business in Dalian and entrepreneurial incubators in the startup incubator.150 valid questionnaires were collected.Through statistical analysis of the data, the following conclusions were obtained:(1)There is a significant positive relationship between shared mental model and entrepreneurial opportunity identification.(2)The shared mental model dimensions have a certain influence on team communication.Among them, the task-related shared mental model is significantly positively related to member incentives and team collaboration; Both types of shared mental models were positively related to information transmission.(3)There is a significant positive correlation between team communication and entrepreneurial opportunity recognition.(4)The various dimensions of team communication play different degrees of mediating effects between sharing mental models and identifying entrepreneurial opportunities.Among them, information transfer plays a mediating role in the task-related shared mental model and feasibility identification. At the same time,it plays a partial mediation role in the member-related shared mental model and profitability recognition.Team collaboration in the task-related shared mental model and feasibility Identification plays a partial intermediary role.Through the above research conclusions, this article put forward some suggestions for the managers of the entrepreneurial team,so that they can effectively improve the team's ability to identify opportunities in the management practice, and also proposed the limitations of the research and future research directions.
