With the rapid development of economic and social, Lean production is morepopular, many companies are beginning to learn it in order to improve product qualityand reduce costs quickly. They want to find a scientific way to increase long-termmarket competitiveness. However there are many differences between lean productionand traditional management mode. Companies inevitably fall into puzzled so such asretrogress when they lean Lean production, because of the huge difference betweenLean production and the tranditional production. How to establish a long-term modeto promote Lean production to quickly improve competitiveness is a difficult problemfor manufacturing companies.This article is based on the research on Lean production theory and applyingIndustrial Engineering methods. Through a combination system analysis onqualitative and quantitative, a lean production site improvement activity in HunanCSR Times Electric Vehicle Co., Ltd.(after referred to as "CSR Times Electric")assembly site is discussed. To obtain excellent results, CSR Times Electricestablished a special project group, include the senior management (planning director,in charge of production and operation) and all the staff. Through the analysis andoptimization of lay-out, logistics, process flow, line balancing, exception handling, alot of waste and non value-added operations is eliminated. The manufacturing cycletime is reduced by42.6%and the line banlancing increased to96.5%. The companyrealized line balancing,"one-piece flow" and Just-in-time distribution model.Production cost has been radically reduced and product competitiveness has beenimproved.The successful application for lean production site improvement activity in CSRTimes Electric has important guiding significance for the site improvement activitiesof CSR Times Electric and bus companies. Meanwhile lean production method hascertain significance for the concrete application of other domestic enterprises.Based on the theory of Lean production, the paper analysed the problems of CSRTimes Electric, designed system improving program, and abtain much benefit throughKaizen. The success of assembly workshop lean Kaizen, has important guidingsignificance to the company as well as the car company in the field of improvingactivity, at the same time has a certain guiding significance to other companies, when they learn Lean production.
