Research On The AR Game Design Of Children's Safety Education Based On Interactive Narrative

Middle and lower grade primary school children have not yet developed physically and mentally,the safety awareness is relatively weak,generally lack the ability to prevent and deal with accidents.Traditional child safety education usually adopts oral instruction,graphic stories,animated videos and other ways,lack of interaction and experience,and low efficiency.The security exercise is based on the situation,easy to achieve the effect,but the organization workload is huge,should not be used as a routine training method.With the rapid development of digital technology,augmented reality(AR)technology has been widely used in educational games due to its immersive,interactive and situational features,and also provides new possibilities for children's safety education.With the support of AR technology,interactive narrative,with its diverse structure,can provide children with rich educational situations and means to interact with the story,so as to improve children's experience of acquiring safety education knowledge.Based on interactive narrative,this paper studies the design and implementation of AR games in children's safety education.This paper firstly sorts out the main contents and methods of children's safety education at the present stage,and studies the possible application of interactive narrative in safety education by discussing the evolution of traditional narrative,the characteristics of interactive narrative and its typical structure.Based on the physiological and psychological characteristics of the target children and the case analysis of the classic children's safety education games,the interactive children's safety education game design strategy supported by AR technology is obtained.Based on the previous studies,according to the general steps of game development and security content and form of education,from the strategic target,content,structure,interactive narrative structure from three aspects of human-computer interaction,puts forward the application on the AR safety education game design principle,and according to the development process of the game planning scheme,content framework and interaction module,graphic design and game development platforms and technology was studied and designed.With smart phones and tablets as the AR hardware platform,the final AR game "incredible adventure" is composed of physical CARDS and Android version of mobile APP.Children can use the APP installed on mobile devices to recognize and scan game CARDS with camera function for interactive learning experience.The exquisitely designed paper game CARDS provide scenes of safety education knowledge,while the digital contents in the APP enhance the story and immersion of children's games from visual,auditory,tactile and other aspects through the interactive interface.The evaluation shows that AR games for children's safety education based on interactive narration can provide children with situational autonomous learning experience,and solve the problems of traditional safety education with single means,dull form and low content absorption rate.The application research of augmented reality technology and interactive narrative method in this paper also provides a design idea and method reference for the research and development of other functional games.
