As a newborn thing, educational games first appeared in the domestic research as early as2004.Then although many authors have done a lot of work in this field, few systematic analysis about the present situation of the research on education games, fruitful research results still need to be compiled and analyzed. Therefore, it has great research value to analyze the research status and development trend of educational games in our country.In this study,there is a deep research on486journal thesises and academic thesises of educational games in our country between2004and2012,with a tool of literature statistical analysis and content analysis.In the first chapter, research background, research objectives, research questions an d research content were expounded, ideas and methods of research were summarized, t he significance of research was interpreted, and also the core concept was explanated.In the second chapter, a literature review on the relationship between the educatio n and games,the research status on educational games in domestic and foreign count ry has done,referring to a large number of domestic and foreign academic thesises ab out educational games.In the third chapter, the statistical results was analysed. Above all,the research idea was stated, Then, the statistical results were analyzed from the following five dimensions:Firstly,the basic situation of published literature about educational games was manily analyzed from the following perspectives:the annual number of thesises published and the high frequency keywords;Secondly,the information of authors in the field of educational games was studied mainly from the following points:the numbers of authors,the units of authors,the geographical distribution of the units and the core expert.Thirdly, the research bases of educational games were summarized. Fourthly,the research level of authors was analyzed maily from the quality and highly cited frequencies of the thesises. Fifthly, the research category and content of educational games was analyzed on the basis of classifying research category,and then the research field and research topics was discussed respectively.In the fourth chapter, the present situation of the research on education games in our country was summarized,and the development trends were also looking forward to: From the thesises,we know that research trend of educational games appeared "overall growth, local fluctuations",and it is in the development initial period at present. From the high frequency keywords,we know that most authors are committed to the designing study of the educational games and edutainment on primary and secondary school students.From the information of authors, the variation tendency of the authors’ numbers is similar to the variation tendency of the thesises’s numbers. Normal universities and non-normal universities are the main strength of the study. There is a significant difference among the regions, The more abundant research results appeared in east China and central China region,yet, there has not been formed the group of the core expert.Form the research bases of educational games, we found that there is a total of19research bases, universities are accounted for the vast majority of research bases, the number of firms is minimal.From the research level of authors, in journal thesises, the sample number of educational games in SCI and EI journals is0, the percentage of thesises in CSSCI journals is also small,just26.5%.In academic thesises, the percentage in211colleges is close to the half of the total numbers about educational games,however,985colleges is only7%.From the scope and content of the study,authors in our country have more focus on the theory research, design and development of research and applied research of educational games,however,there is not too much attention on the investigation research, industry research and management research of educational games.The last part is conclusions, pointed out the contributions,disadvantages of this research and also put forward the direction of the future.
