In the information age of big data,cultural integration has become a wave in the wave of global communication,and the concept of "global village" has been certified over and over again in the wave of information.As a cultural window to understand the world,we must face up to its instantaneous or long-term effects in the process of communication.As the most influential feature of many foreign dramas,American dramas not only enrich the entertainment life of Chinese audiences,but also challenge the local culture of China.From the perspective of information theory,if the American drama is regarded as an information,can the similarities and differences between the Chinese audience's information decoding of American drama and the American audience's information decoding of American drama challenge everyone's "stereotype" ?This paper first combs the development process of American TV series in China and the United States,and conducts empirical research based on the changes in the development of American TV series and the understanding of the real audience.Through the methods of questionnaire survey and in-depth interview for some sampling audiences in China and the United States,it first conducts questionnaire survey for the Chinese audience of American TV series,summarizes the characteristics of the Chinese audience,as well as the motivation of watching TV series Psychology and habit analysis,positive judgment of American drama on the Chinese audience communication effect.Then,we use Katz's interpretation classification method to analyze the six interviewees' detailed interpretation methods,and use four interpretation methods of Katz: Hot / reference interpretation,cold / reference interpretation,hot / critical interpretation,cold / critical interpretation to classify and analyze the interviewees' interview samples.Through the study of the text interpretation of the audiences of American TV series in China and the United States,this paper explores the reasons for the deep-seated cultural differences,and analyzes the audiences from the micro perspective,including group differences and self-identity cognitive differences;from the macro perspective,it analyzes the cultural similarities and differences between China and the United States displayed behind the audiences,including high and low language differences,stereotypes and the differences between China and the United States under collectivism and individualism.This paper focuses on the media trained audiences in the cross-cultural communication of American dramas,the impression,attitude and corresponding behavior of Chinese and American audiences on the American culture of American dramas,and makes a comparison between the audiences with the same cultural background and different audiences on the interpretation of American dramas.
