The development of media technology to accelerate the current trend of cultural globalization and inevitably led to a more communicative society. What the impact of this cultural status to the the new generation of Chinese culture heritage and innovator(young audiences born after the1980's)? How to treat the conflict generated by the U.S. TV drama as the representative of foreign culture and local culture?This paper take the80's audience as the research object, and use questionnaire surveys, focus group interviews and case interviews and other qualitative research methods, focus on the use and attitudes to the U.S. TV drama of80's and focus on the impact of U.S. TV drama to the80's.First of all, during the research of viewing behavior preferences and viewing needs of the80's, the authors found that80's audience showing a new characteristic of autonomy, in the era of Internet-based multimedia interactive. In the procedure of deeply understand and explore the impact of the U.S. film and television drama on the day-to-day behavior and cultural identity to the80's, we found that Joseph Nye's "soft power theory" has significant deficiencies similar to the "magic bullet theory":Underestimated the audience's initiative in the process of receiving information, ignored the audience's internal force of national culture, and overestimated the effect of cross-regional cultural products.On the basis of this study, the paper argues that:Observing today's world cultural development model from a distance, cross-cultural transmission of foreign cultural products, everywhere, can not be avoided, this is not about right and wrong, is not to escape, limit, control or resistance, but how to understand it and promote it to a useful direction.This article suggests, we should be a tolerant attitude and actively treat the exchange between different cultures, integration, innovation. And we should learn the skills of others to enrich our own, beyond in inheritance, inherit in beyond, always strengthen the construction of China's soft power in foreign cultural exchanges and learning.
