In recent years, the demand for high-precision measurement of large-size components has been increasing.Especially in the fields of aerospace and automobile manufacturing, higher requirements for measurement accuracy and efficiency have been put forward. The 3D optical scanning system performs excellently in the measurement of complex surfaces.Using a visual tracking system to track the 3D optical scanning probe can further improve its measurement accuracy. In order to ensure the performance of the multi-camera visual tracking system,it is necessary to plan the camera layout reasonably and improve the accuracy of camera calibration. Therefore, the camera layout of the visual tracking system has been optimized, and the multi-camera calibration algorithm based on a five-point one-dimensional calibration bar has been investigated and improved. The main research results of this thesis are as follows:(1)A multi-camera position layout scheme is designed for the visual tracking system to ensure the largest measurement range while ensuring the measurement accuracy of the system;(2)An improved multi-camera calibration algorithm, which improves the speed and accuracy of multi-camera calibration,is proposed;(3)A multi-camera calibration process with a five-point one-dimensional calibration bar is designed. As few calibration images as possible are used to implement the multi-camera calibration algorithm proposed in this thesis without sacrificing the calibration accuracy;(4)An interface is developed to provide visual guidance for the calibration process.According to the simulation result, the measurement volume of the four-camera system is 5.03m~3,which is 100%larger than the previous dual-camera system. The error is within 0.1%in comparison with the theoretical parameters according to the simulation experiment of calibration.
