With the rapid development of network information technology,people's demand for information security is also increasing.It is becoming more and more convenient to obtain,edit and distribute multimedia information,which brings convenience to people,and also brings huge challenges to traditional information security.Traditional data encryption technologies,such as cryptography,can only play a specific role in protecting data transmission.Once the encrypted data is passed to an authorized recipient,it must be decoded and displayed to the recipient in plain text format,which will inevitably lead to a complete loss of security and the copyright owner's interest in the data will no longer be protected.As a result,traditional encryption technologies may not meet increasing security requirements.Since 1990,while effectively ensuring the security of private information,better use of the convenience of modern communications has gradually attracted attention.Therefore,information hiding technology has become a very hot research topic in the field of information security.This technology is commonly used for authentication,fingerprint identification and secure communication.However,in practical applications,most information hiding technologies cannot recover the original host information after extracting the embedded data,so that there are always slight changes in the data,which will affect the extraction of secret data and authentication of the authenticity of the information.Therefore,in some important areas that require high carrier integrity and data authenticity,such as medicine,military,and law,the existing information hiding technology cannot meet the needs.Therefore,researchers have proposed the reversible data hiding techniques.The so-called reversible data hiding means that the data receiver can restore the original image losslessly after using the extraction algorithm to extract the hidden information correctly.Due to the lossless transmission of private information,the reversible data hiding technology has quickly become one of the industries with high development potential in the field of information hiding.In this thesis,a common and simple gray image is taken as the research object,and a reversible data hiding algorithm based on a new prediction method and histogram modification is proposed.By improving the pixel prediction algorithm and combining the histogram modification technology,the performance of the overall algorithm is optimized.The author introduces the methods and importance of multimedia data security and copyright protection,the basic concepts and basic principles of information hiding technology,gives a most common system model of information hiding technology and summarizes the classification of information hiding technology and some basic.feature.The development status of information hiding technology at home and abroad is analyzed.Next,the basic concepts of the reversible data hiding technology are introduced.Finally,the author gives the future direction of research and development of reversible data hiding technology.Because the proposed algorithm hides the information by modifying the pixel gray values ?of a set of zero(or minimum)points and maximum points in the image prediction error histogram.In the proposed algorithm,the new pixel prediction method in this thesis makes the pixel prediction more accurate,compared with some classic prediction methods,and the prediction error histogram is more compact with more peak points,which greatly improves the embedding space of the algorithm.Finally,the simulation results also clearly show that the algorithm not only completely realizes reversible data hiding,but also has higher hiding efficiency,larger embedding capacity compared with some classic algorithms,and lower carrier image distortion rate after embedding private information.In general,the proposed algorithm can not only perform reversible data hiding operations on common grayscale images,but also can be applied to images in more rigorous fields such as medicine,which has high practical and promotional value.The author believe that the information security field will inevitably become the focus of research in the future.
