Today the scientific research problems we are facing are becoming more and more comprehensive and complex in the context of great scientific era.It is difficult to solve by relying on the power of a single discipline. It is necessary to cross-fuse the knowledge of multiple disciplines.During this process,a large number of emerging interdisciplinary subjects are constantly emerging.Foreign scholars generally use the term "interdisciplinary" to indicate cross-disciplines.The term was first proposed by Columbia University psychologist R.S.Woodworth in 1926.The first interdisciplinary conference held in China in 1985 shows that the interdisciplinary researches in China has begun.Since then, scholars have carried out researches on interdisciplinary subjects in full swing, covering all aspects of natural sciences and social sciences, involving interdisciplinary theories, methods, and knowledge exchange and transfer of disciplines.Looking at the relevant research results at home and abroad,we can find that scholars focus on the intersection and transfer of knowledge with other disciplines during the formation of an interdisciplinary discipline or the interfusion between two or more disciplines, tending to interpret it from a macro perspective. The interdisciplinary phenomenon is lack of interdisciplinary knowledge at the micro content level such as the position of the documents' chapters. In the process of using citation analysis to study interdisciplinary, the value and meaning of all citations are treated as equal, and no location distinction is made. This article takes the biomedical engineering discipline as an example, taking its knowledge sources as the research focus. And analyzes the contributions of journals and disciplines of cross-disciplinary knowledge sources from multiple perspectives, mainly from the following aspects:(1)To review the research status of interdisciplinary disciplines, summarize the research results and find insufficient research;(2)Analyze the structural characteristics of chapters in the biomedicalengineering discipline literature, divide and merge the literature chapters according to the literature discourse function, and visually analyze the number and type of citations;(3)Taking journals as the starting point, analyze the knowledge contributions of different journals to the biomedical engineering discipline from the three perspectives of overall perspective, position perspective and comprehensive perspective, and summarize the contribution characteristics of journals from different perspectives;(4)Match the source journals with disciplines, from discipline-level analysis of the knowledge contributions of different disciplines from the above three perspectives, and discovering the characteristics and laws of knowledge contribution of biomedical engineering source disciplines from different perspectives.Research shows:(1)According to the analysis of the structural characteristics of the literature chapters,it can be seen that there are more documents of 3-5 paragraphs structure in the biomedical engineering discipline literature, accounting for more than 80% of the sample literature,of which 4-paragraphs documents meet the structural characteristics of the IMRAD standard,3-paragraphs type and 5-paragraphs type are the reduced or expanded forms of the standard structure.(2)Research on the contribution of knowledge at the journal level shows that there are many types of journals contributed, there are 3836 kinds. And the contribution of journals conforms to the law of 28.There are differences in the types and strengths of contributing journals in different positions. The numbers and types of journals in the introductory part are the most. However, according to the analysis of the degree of position contribution,it is found that many journals' maximum degree of position contribution is not in the introductory part, but appears in the conclusion and discussion part, indicating that most journals are more important in providing alternative interpretations of results for biomedical engineering disciplines.(3)Research on knowledge contribution at the discipline level shows that there are 185 disciplines related to the input of knowledge in biomedical engineering disciplines in addition to its own disciplines, with a wide range of knowledge sources.Whether it is a holistic perspective or a comprehensive perspective, the discipline with the most knowledge contribution is its own discipline, indicating that thediscipline can meet the requirements of its own discipline development to a certain extent. The analysis of the types of cited disciplines in different positions found that the four positions have their respective main contributing disciplines, and the degree of position contribution varies greatly.Unlike journals, the position where the largest contribution of position of the subjects appears is in the materials and methods section, accounting for 39.55% of the total number of subjects in the four positions, indicating that more subjects are more important in providing method design and material support for the biomedical engineering discipline.
