Research On The Meaning Construction Of Meaid Events In The Background Of New Media Era

Britain's prince harry and American actress Meghan get married in Windsor,Britain,May 19,2018.In this study,live video,news reports and online public opinions of Chinese and British media were collected,and 194 bullet screens in the live broadcast of prince Harry's wedding on Chinese video live website were analyzed.At the same time,the paper discusses the encoding and decoding features and various functions of media events in the context of new media,and ponders the phenomenon of cross-cultural communication of media events by comparing the differences between Chinese and English media reports.Due to the development of the Internet and the deepening of globalization,compared with the previous era when TV and radio were the main media,the globalization of media events under the background of new media now has three new features: the improvement of the freedom of live broadcast viewing,the diversification of coding subjects and the enhancement of the interaction in the communication process.The influence and scope of Britain's prince harry's wedding on China and Britain are different,so there are differences in the content and process of the meaning construction of prince harry's wedding.This media event is a major political event for Britain,whose main effect is to consolidate the leadership of the British royal family and promote the social integration of Britain.For China,it is a grand live program,which not only enables Chinese society to contact with foreign cultures,but also arouses Chinese people's yearning for a happy life.From the perspective of cross-cultural communication,this paper focuses on media events in the context of new media,takes the live broadcast of prince Harry's wedding held on May 19,2018 as the research object,and explains specific issues based on Dayan and Katz's views on media events.Firstly,through the analysis of domestic and foreign literature and the collection and arrangement of data,the cross-cultural communication of media events in the context of new media is understood.Secondly,the live broadcast mode of prince Harry's wedding is specifically analyzed.The significance of the broadcast is analyzed from the process of the wedding.The strategy of the live broadcast of prince Harry's wedding is analyzed from the specific data transmission of the wedding.In the end,this paper summarizes the cross-cultural reasons of Chinese audiences for the live broadcast of prince Harry's wedding,and draws relevant conclusions to provide specific Suggestions for the media event transmission in the context of new media.
