Since the Linked Data project arises,abundant linked datasets have been published on the Linked Open Data platform,which contain large amounts of biological pathway datasets.Traditional visualization tools are mostly based on standalone datasets stored in relational databases,which means that there is tight coupling between the tools and databases.These tools cannot achieve the task that visualizing the multi-source biological pathway data in Linked Data scenario.Hence,this thesis shows the research on multi-source biological pathway data visualization system based on Linked Data.Firstly,four biological pathway visualization models are proposed after analyzing the characteristics of both substances and relations between them.The models are metabolic network visualization model,gene expression network visualization model,gene regulatory network visualization model,and cell signal transduction pathway visualization model,which can represent the characteristics of relevant biological pathways,providing the basis for the design of visualization strategies.The interactive visualization strategies are proposed in terms of the models,which are force-directed layout and Sankey layout.In addition,the user interface of biological pathway visualization is designed that includes menu,introduction of the pathway,statistical information,the layouts,interactive function,and query function.The dynamic integration of multi-source biological pathway datasets is realized in terms of ontology matching.This thesis can realize the dynamic mapping of URIs in different databases,enhancing the system flexibility.Finally,the design of biological pathway visualization system and implementation are carried out to verify the effectiveness of the research,which contain the system architecture and detailed design.This thesis proposes the models and strategies for biological pathway visualization and realizes the dynamic integration of multi-source datasets.In contrast to the exiting tools,this system can demonstrate biological pathway data of multiple datasets,providing biologists the service of multi-source data exploring.
